What other forums?

Recommended Posts

Since discovering this forum, I tend to spend most of my time here now. I do not know if it is the fact we are all from Jersey and there is the possibility of meeting and shooting together or we all understand the wacky laws.

I have noticed a higher level of civility here as well. I know we are all still new here and welcoming each other but I have not read any rude posts. Is it the fact we might be each others neighbor? Or we have probably and will continue to shoot next to one another. Even if we meet. I am opinionated and sarcastic, but you will get over that. :D

The thought that I am talking/helping/learning from my fellow shooters in my state keeps me interested. The idea that we may be able to unite and affect change in the state is promising.

What do you think?

I was on the beretta forum and XD talk for a while until I got invited here. I think once a lot more people come over from New Jersey, the attitude will follow (you know how us Jersey people get). But so far it's been pretty enlightning with all the gun shops down south that I didn't know about.

www.xdtalk.com

haven't been to these two since joining here

This site has a lot of information on older rifles and collectable surplus guns, If you like Mausers and Mosins its the place to go. After you try here of course. I did get some good info on my Mosin and FN-49 there.

Im with tbtrout, for the better part of a month now, this is my most frequented site. Along with CZ forums, which im on daily, this one is more for me. Same reasons as tbtrout was saying, this forum is developing nicely. I know I am not that active, but with a few more posts from our almost close to 100 members, this site will be jumping by summer :D

I am glad that more people are spending time here. As a few others touched upon, what I would want to know is...

With posting on this forum, do you find that you go to other forums less frequently?

What keeps you coming back here?

What would make you more active on this forum?

What one thing would you change, if you could.

also, do you go to the forum directly or through the main page?

Is this page bookmarked?

thanks.

I visit this forum before checking out Beretta Forum on my hourly surf through the net. Have both forums on my bookmark toolbar in Firefox for easy access (How about a site favicon?) :D I do still like to go over to BF, I think it's more activity leading to larger amounts of information that gets posted, the large quantities of pictures people post, which all leads to having more time to spend on that given site.

I do think this site has some major potential!! I think once it starts to really catch on it will most likely be my primary site for information and just sharing experiences etc. Not sure if it's just my perception or not, but it seems like the Gun Loving states have this fascination with pointing out the difficulties of getting firearms in NJ. Compared to what my brother in law is going through to get his NY permit, my journey was a cake walk!!

I think another benefit of having a NJ Dedicated site, is the ability to have a group meet up and shoot, share the good / bad and ugly stories of different ranges and shops etc..

Just my .02 cents

Tom

I discoverd this forum while on 1911Forum.com, I also was visiting

Brian Enos's Forums and Bullseye-L Archive forum.

I too spend most of my time here now. It probably is because

of all the things we NJ shooters have in common,"places to shoot,

NJ laws, maybe even sharing hunting and fishing spots" :)

I think WE NJ shooters have to stand together as much, and

probably more than any other state. This forum, focusing on NJ shooters

can help us to do that.

Im also on ar15.com. They have a NY&NJ hometown forum on there as well.... Lots of very knowledgeable guys on the subject of NJ and guns, including a few LEOs and FFLs....They also have these get together shooting events. Last one was just a few weeks ago in Old Bridge. A lot of people showed up...at lest 40 or so...maybe more. Next one is in a month or so...

Yep so far I like what I see. I do frequent AR15.com the most. Been there for a long time and met many good gun guys from the Hometown forum.

Like Fishpaw said we had a nice get together shoot at the Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club two Saturdays ago. The last two were at the South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow. Another is planned there for June or July.

As were are all in the same boat here in NJ so to say I can understand the civility that's not equated with other gun forums. Hopefully it will remain.

The NJCSD forum is OK although there are some really serious worriers there about what is and isn't legal in NJ. Some can't see the difference between an adjustable and a collapsable stock. Lot's of novice gun owners there who just don't listen.

I too hope the civility remains as we grow. I suspect it will, especially if there are groups that get together regularly to shoot. I look forward to meeting more of the members as time goes on. By reading some of the posts in here, I frequent quite a few of the same places as others. We have probably even spoke. Hopefully I was nice. :?
