The cancer is spreading to Virginia

Recommended Posts

I am in VA now.  There is a very strong 2A presence here.  Much more so than in NJ.  Politicians from the DC suburbs introduce bills every year like this and they go nowhere.  There is a Lobby Day this month that is run in a very organized manner.  They have busses and then form into lobby teams to meet with legislators.  You then meet individually with your representatives.  I rally takes place at the end.  Last year it resulted in the governor's anti 2A bills going nowhere.  People in VA are very united/organized in their fight for their rights and don't accept it like in NJ.  I also never see any infighting on any of the forums in VA concerning fighting for 2A rights.

Seriously, I'd suggest you take off your rose colored glasses. Maybe in the Western side of the state, it might be like that. The state is turning "Bluer" each year.

Don't believe me? How did you end up with a Democrat for Governor, if the state is so pro 2A? You also had McAuliffe before him.

And no new gun laws.  McAuliffe tried to stop CCW reciprocity and it was shot down hard.  Last year all of the anti gun proposals introduced by Gov Northam never made it out of committee.  As a result of that fight VA recognizes any and all concealed carry licenses.  I do happen to live in the most conservative part of the state.  It is a different world here.

Sadly, the cancer is spreading throughout our nation, as people fleeing high tax blue states take their liberal BS with them to the free states, dragging them down.

The odds are really stacked against conservatives.  Between the phenomenon above, liberal control of education and the media, and a flood of low-skilled, third world immigrants who vote overwhelmingly Democratic, this nation is doomed to eventually becoming a socialistic hell hole, much like NJ and the other blue states.  Liberals are not winning the hearts and minds of middle America, they are merely (and quite successfully) changing the demographic.

Even worse, they will make YOU pay for those demographic changes, much like Murphy has proposed free legal advice and free tuition for people who come here illegally (on the backs of taxpayers). That's where I really get offended... that we're getting stuck with the bill for all this "generosity". (It ain't generous if you're using someone else's money!)

Unfortunately, there seems to be no other solution at this point.  Sucks for me to have to pack up and sell the house, but these idiots are like the Walking Dead shambling around.

This is exactly how I expected it to go.  Unlike NJ, VA has a strong gun culture.  Open carry is a constitutional right in this state.  Concealed carry is also shall issue.

Off-topic: $15 minimum wage was also rejected in VA, again not like NJ...

The heavily populated and liberal part next to DC has ruined the place.

Kind of like how Hudson and Bergen screw up NJ

this is how we've lost most states so far....and it's how we're going to lose our great republic

Here’s another proud moment for Virginia democrats:

VA Democrat convicted of sex with an underage employee wins state senate primary

He was convicted in 2015, but continued to serve in the state legislature while in prison.

Well, if Marion Barry could be re-elected mayor of DC after his "convictions...."

A new Term. We've  gone from "Assault Rifles" to "Assault Firearms",   https://freebeacon.com/issues/va-governors-gun-confiscation-proposal-could-affect-millions-of-residents/

"Assault Rifles", "Assault Weapons", and "Assault Firearms" are not new terms.  They were invented by the firearms press back in the early 1980s.

Much like Pennsylvania, the potential for loss of 2A rights is always there and we need to be as vigilant as possible to stop it.   Like Pennsylvania,  the media loves to back the democrat governor  and disregard the republican legislature, giving people a false or at least unbalanced sense of where aurhority lies.  I, too, remember when the Virginia governor and atty general tried to break reciprocity agreements and failed.  Sadly, the PA atty general still got his way with ending the Virginia agreement.
