Promag Archangel QBD for Ruger 10/22

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have any experience with this new stock that converts a standard Ruger 10/22 to a take-down Ruger?.   What a great idea; It looks pretty neat.  it would be really cool if it could hold extra magazines in the stock, and if they eventually came out with a wooden or "over-molded" variety.   One vender has the "on sale" for about $110 dollars... I always wanted a take-down 10/22 and this is a lot cheaper, and supposedly a smaller package, than the standard 10/22 take-down variety and seems to float the barrel and can be used with a carbine or heavier target barrel.

You had to freeze your barrel to take it off the receiver?  What is the locking dove-tale thing?   Are we talking about the same stock from Promag?  Do you have a standard Ruger?

Standard with a match barrel.

if you have a standard , remove the barrel and action from the stock. Invert and look at where the barrel meets the receiver.

( freeze to install, it’s a trick. )

@Scorpio64 has shot that gun. It’s a tack driver

I installed a QBD stock on a stock Ruger 10/22 stainless carbine and it functions nicely.  Not much bigger than say an AR-7 when folded and quite reliable to boot.  The stock doesn't feel cheap, and is more than fair quality for what it is.  Old Glory "engraved" on the plastic stock is pretty sweet, too.  Clicks together nicely and feels solid when assembled.   It zeroes nicely with an optic installed (but that does make its overall footprint larger.  Now it needs a dedicated case.  The stock is thin, but it might have been nice to have a way of storing an additional magazine some how.  Maybe there isn't a need, but there wasn't any way to attach a sling if you choose to go that route.   Overall, I like it, and I love the fact that 10/22s have flush magazines.  It would be really cool if Promag came out with a wood version, but that would make it more heavy.

    • In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.
    • 27.00 and change in tolls to drive down the shore from Rutherford,  47.00 in tolls to go out to Long island to visit dying relatives. Now I read they are going to raise the fees in the DMV. Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving.   Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get.  Tax and spend is all they know.  Never cut anything.  This state sucks.
