Non NJ Compliant rifle shipped to FFL/Gunsmith?

Recommended Posts

No issues as long as the FFL is expecting it and willing to do the work.

We have plenty of FFLs here as vendors who would be able to do the basic compliance work.  Send them a message, I am sure they would be willing to help you out.

its never been a problem for me.  mostly all my guns need compliance work.

I think FFL to FFL deals are fairly straightforward or having your FFL who is also a dealer get you the gun and make it compliant. There are some out-of-state dealers who simply won't ship a non-compliant gun to a restricted state. For example, Bud's policy:

We will not ship firearms to a third party to be modified or changed in any way from manufactured specifications. The firearm you purchase must be compliant AS IS from the manufacturer before we will ship.
