Used SpecOpsTactical Upper

My son is 17. We are in the process of building a lower for him. The plan is for him to have an AR ready to transfer to him for when he gets his FPID next year.

As for the Upper...... I have a stripped upper in the safe, but.....

I have a line on a used, NJ compliant, SpecOpsTactical upper, mid-length gas system, with BCG and CH, for $400.

I cannot see how I can beat this deal by buying parts ala carte.

I see some PSA carbine length uppers for about $300, but they need NJ compliance work.

Opinions?

The only compliance work would be pinning a muzzle brake on a 16" upper.

That's not really a deal The  SOT uppers  $442 new  w bcg/ch

AR parts are cheap now. $400 isn’t a deal, at all.
