MB24 37 Posted February 28, 2019 Have to replace the ignition switch in my wife's car which will require a recoding of the ignition. Anyone know of some that does this, hate going to the dealer. Location is ocean county.

Displaced Texan 11,731 Posted February 28, 2019 I have VAGCom software for VW’s. I think it can be done from there. I’ll have to check RossTech to see if it can be done. If it can be done through VAGCom, i wouldn’t be able to do it before Tuesday though. Just to clarify, you need to re-code the ignition to recognize the key transponder ID for the immobilizer? More info please, so I can search the proper parameters on VAGCom.
Handyman 5,682 Posted March 1, 2019 The software is seriously called "VAG com"? That sounds like a porn site.

Sota 1,191 Posted March 1, 2019 I knew what it is/was, and I still snickered. At least the Mopar Mothership calls theirs StarScan.

Don't the Krauts know what a vag is in English?
