david8613 69 Posted March 8, 2019 Is the diablo break open restricted in New Jersey? I'm thinking it is not legal for some reason. I think it's cool. https://americanguncraft.com/product/diablo-break-open-12-gauge-pistol-black-grips/?gdpr_consent=&gdpr=false
DirtyDigz 1,793 Posted March 8, 2019 If it's transferred into NJ as a pistol via an FFL I think it's legal. Or get it shipped to an address outside of NJ and pick it up, no FFL/purchase permit required. You know it's a cap-primed muzzleloader, right? It won't load/fire 12ga shells... I'd get a wrist and elbow orthopedic specialist on retainer if you're actually going to shoot it...

david8613 69 Posted March 8, 2019 Capped primed muzzle loader? I'm not familiar with that, thought this was 12 gauge

njJoniGuy 2,129 Posted March 8, 2019 Looks like a fun gun! I wonder if Cabela's (in PA or DE) stocks it?

10X 3,278 Posted March 8, 2019 Keep an eye on the usual used gun sites. This strikes me as the kind of gun, like any handgun much bigger than a .44 mag, that regularly shows up for sale, with the notation "fewer than 20 rounds fired".

Yep, this example is nuthin' more than a cheaply-made breech-action "modern 209 knock-off" of a Howdah Pistol by Pedersoli in Italy. To everyone on the thread: Italian exports are proofed at EXTRA high pressure, so this beautiful Howdah can load twice what that knock-off can. And THAT can be a real wrist-twister! Howdah's were shot from Elephant Baskets (the Howdah!) to repel man-eaters in Africa & India, they didn't have 1/2 oz pussy loads, lol This 20 ga. double-barrel smoothie in the photo (no rifling for the non black powder crowd) uses standard #11 caps and the same nipples as my 10 ga. SxS scattergun (1/4 x 28 thread). 70 grains of FFFg pistol powder & 3/4 oz - 1.0 oz load of buck, ball or combination thereof (Referred to as "Buck & Ball" loading since the Rev War) will tame any man-eater or miscreant with TWO OR FOUR LEGS! Don't forget yer Pith Helmet
SHOTGUNnation 3 Posted October 3, 2019 I just got my hands on one of these little beauties. I know people were having a wait but it looks like the’ve got themselves all caught up.! They said come November... orders will be shipped same day. Everything showed up in excellent condition. Just as expected and even included a buffing rag. I just put my order in tonight for some different shot. Ball, buck and bird... Discussing recoil Management is kind of moot since you’re able to pick your own load size. If anybody is still scratching their heads about the quality of this product… scratch no more! It's a beast! Can I post pictures? Is that allowed? SHOTGUNnation 3 Posted October 3, 2019 Awesome. I'm sure the folks here would appreciate knowing what they ought to be expecting. There's no shooting in this video but next week I'm going to be shooting it!

SHOTGUNnation 3 Posted November 2, 2019 The recoil is extremely manageable. After having fun and exploring how much power you could put into it. I decided to take it out and put it to some real use. If you are using it for closer range hunting then you're probably not going to go over 60 grains and ½ oz of shot. At least not for varmint hunting. And I figure 80 would be pretty good if you're using round ball at close range as well. Brought it along to the woods and got a few squirrels. My woods are thick and I often end up too close to several of them to harvest with my shotgun. By the time they get to a desired distance I'm shooting thru tons of brush. So this really came in handy! Here I am testing out a wide variety of loads
SHOTGUNnation 3 Posted November 19, 2019 Thats an INSANE amount of power. I had some surprisingly devastating results when comparing 12 gauge roundball with .45 acp. SHOTGUNnation 3 Posted November 26, 2019 (edited) New Video uploaded! <2:01> I was able to add a couple of extra squirrels to the pot this week thanks to the Diablo. Sometimes the little guys get up close and personal in all this brush. Too close to harvest without ruining the muscle. I got a little footage hunting with this 12 gauge Double Barrel BlackPowder Pistol if you're interested. https://youtu.be/tTCdwF4cohk Edited November 26, 2019 by SHOTGUNnation Wrong link
