Dog names

Recommended Posts

I second Ruger.  Good dog name plus firearm tie in

Personally, I think you need to have the dog for a while to get to know it's personality then name it.

Kutya? Hungarian for "dog".

Vadasz? Hungarian for "hunter".  Or you could just call him hunter.  Not a bad dog name and somewhat firearm related.

Lekeres - Hungarian for "fetch"

But what do I know.  My dog ended up being named "Louis". French pronunciation of Lewis.  Like King Louis, Louis Vuitton, etc.  I didn't name him.

Lol, Actually "Louis" has a Hungarian tie in.  Who knew.

Nobody came up with the obvious: Gunner

Or, to add some European twang: Gunnar

What does Gunnar mean?
Gunnar is a male first name of Nordic origin (Gunnarr in Old Norse). The name Gunnar means fighter, soldier, and attacker, but mostly is referred to by the Viking saying which means Brave and Bold warrior (gunnr "war" and arr "warrior").

Every famous gun brand has been a dog name.

Gun related, recognizable, but not popular.

Pyrodex. You can call him pyro for short.

Hodgdon is also a famous name I've never heard a dog named after.

Don;t think I 've ever heard hornady, or nosler come up as dog names either.

If it's a smaller dog, especially if female, you can call it mini ball.  Just goes by mini most of the time.

If it's gonna have papers, you can always call the dog Weeda. Register it as Weeda People.

I’ve not run across a dog named Feinwerkbau.  Probably not many Hammerlis out there either.

Too obscure?
