matty 810 Posted April 26, 2019 Well, here's the first one. There will be more I expect. Rimfire will still be tube load, , no reason to change that https://www.guns.com/news/2019/04/26/gun-review-henry-h024-side-gate-lever-action-video

M1152 713 Posted April 26, 2019 At the risk of whining it’s a very nice looking rifle but I don’t care for both the tube & load gate on same rifle. IMHO they should have just did a straight load gate model

That’s may be why they went that way and IIRC that was the case for Henry doing the tube feed but I’d prefer one or the other. I have the Henry in 357 & 44 mag so I won’t be running out anytime soon to get another
Johns323 0 Posted June 8, 2019 I’m so annoyed. I bought the non-side gate version on April 19th and this came out a week later.

I prefer side loading, and I would like it alone. That being said, the merits of front tube make it a great addition to side loading. Front loading alone was unappealing for anything but .22lr, but the addition of the loading gate has put a Henry on my "must buy" list.
Hairless Joe 10 Posted January 14, 2020 I bought one, in 30-30. My Christmas present to myself. My non-shooting wife thought it was so pretty she wanted to hang it over the fireplace. I told her I'm not interested in having to lock it up every time we leave the house. Shoots good! Did you know that a 30-30 round will leave a divot in a steel plate at 50 yds? You probably did but I was kind of surprised, having only shot them with my .45 before. The paper target I hung in the next lane over was much the worse for wear by the end of the day as well. This hobby could get expensive.
