markymarkkev 13 Posted May 16, 2019 I'm potentially interested in doing my first match. Are there particular rules for guns? ie no red dots/comps, etc? sorry for the noob question.
sprg03ken 3 Posted May 16, 2019 I assume you are talking about the IDPA match. There is a class for nearly any center fire handgun. The compensators are pretty much out, but Red Dots would fall under the Carry optics class. So those would be legal. For your very first match will not need concealment or a holster you can go from low ready. After that you need a vest or shirt that would cover your holster. For a holster any of the manufacturers have good ones. The only exception is No Serpa style holsters unless you are Law Enforcement and use that as a duty holster. There have been issues with them we do not allow them. We are pretty liberal with shooters doing there first match so do not worry about you do or do not have. We can fix you up. I hope you decide to join us. Thanks, Ken A.
markymarkkev 13 Posted May 17, 2019 gotcha. I just want to be clear and appreciate the info. I currently have a battle belt setup with a safariland ALS mid ride. Appropriate?
