VR6Bomber 1 Posted May 30, 2019 Hi All, I noticed that TTC's range policy states that among more obvious prohibited ammo that 'bi metal ammo is not allowed' Does that mean no steel casing ammo? Does it means something else? Thanks
Krdshrk 3,872 Posted May 30, 2019 Bi-metal jacketed ammo - When the bullet itself has a bi-metal casing. Generally means that instead of straight up copper jacket, it has some other metals in it - generally steel. that can damage the backstop... or it could be hiding an actual steel core bullet that will definitely damage the backstop. It's generally not an issue except with cheap steel cased ammo and 7.62x39.
DirtyDigz 1,793 Posted May 30, 2019 Krdshrk has it - they care about the bullet, not the case. How they’ll check is they’ll hold a magnet to the bullet/projectile. If the magnet holds onto the bullet then they’ll ask you not to use that ammo.
