Now if NJ only joined the 21st century like the rest of America and used you know... the NICS system. lol. For the FFLs, when you call in NJ Nics, do you give a copy of the pistol permit number or no? We all know that the pistol permit has been a form of gun control since the advent of NICS, but "running out" is just a total WTF. The whole thing is a joke... especially living in PA. Like, you want a gun? Go to FFL, pass NICS, fill out forms, done.

I was wondering about that, how many other businesses still use NCR forms and dot matrix printers? Hasn't technology made them just about obsolete? Multiple PD's didn't realize they were getting close to the bottom of the case of forms? Really? We're to believe that?
Underdog 1,593 Posted June 6, 2019 I'm applying for permits tomorrow even though I am not interested in a handgun right now. There needs to be a class action filed. Incompetent , corrupt, conniving, colluding statists. There needs to be accountability. Fudds be damned.

njJoniGuy 2,129 Posted June 6, 2019 My take on this situation: The world supply of 4-part pinfeed NCR (no carbon required) paper stock is finally exhausted. This type of paper has been used since the 70's and the technology went extinct in the late 1990s. The printing industry, with so little demand for this type of paper forms, has made the manufacturing of it no longer financially viable. The state's printing vendor has finally run out of this 4 color/part blank stock and the state, in its infinite wisdon (Not!) has failed to come up with an alternative. No worries for the state - this just accelerates their ultimate agenda of no handgun sales in the PRNJ.

The only thing wrong with that is that you can currently go to Staples and still buy a type writer, 3 and 4 part carbon paper and ink rollers for both printing calculators typer writers. 45 minutes ago, Sniper said: If that's the case, it makes it look even MORE suspicious.. If it was just one town, sure... but more than one town? State. What I think may have been happening is the state was assuming they would print new permits for the new $50 or whatever the heck it is supposed to be fee.... and did not want to order more of the current permits before having to buy new ones. ChrisJM981 924 Posted June 6, 2019 Perhaps they're laying the groundwork for justifying the $100 FID. "We have to go digital so we aren't denying the comrades'...err....citizens' rights." Pistol permits are a form or register in NJ. With a digital FID they could track purchases with the SBI number on your card.
Fattychopmeat 0 Posted June 6, 2019 i called the NJSP today. They told me they did run out But the new permits are in and available

AlDente67 563 Posted June 20, 2019 When I got mine years ago, the guy who handles it for my town claimed he never got my reference letters. Luckily I came in person to follow up and spotted the letter right there in front of him on his desk. He didn't seem like he had an agenda either....just busy with other duties I suppose. I didn't think he was purposefully stalling because he suggested I get two of them and he would extend the validity right on the spot. I didn't get another because I couldnt afford a second pistol at that time (even extended). I kick myself for not scraping up the cash back then. Now I don't bother because of the process and hassle, I'll have to get by with just my lone Beretta and 10 long guns. Probably would have to go through the fingerprint hassle too after so much time has passed...60 bucks at some podunk office park. You would think that a police station could handle fingerprinting, but no.
BobA 1,235 Posted June 20, 2019 I wonder if the Honorable Governor Murphy orders a shut down over the budget dispute how will this effect the permitting process? Has anyone been through a shut down while waiting for their permit?
Underdog 1,593 Posted June 26, 2019 Screw Nut Bolt Hammer Wrench (permissive) permits and socialist Democraps and RINOs! Who gave them permission to waft all their crap our way? We the People need to start a permit system for politicians.
Sal 0 Posted August 4, 2019 I recieved my permits from Clark. No mention of shortage of permits. From what I can see I recieved them 37 days after everything was returned to Clark PD. Tbey usually issue within 30 to 37 days. Remember late June tbru July is a big vacation month. All considered I think on line system worked pretty well. I have no issues with my town. Very smooth.
