ICORE Match Saturday 06/08. Now 07/13

Recommended Posts

CORE stands for International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts. Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club (LPRGC) has been trying to get ICORE matches off the ground. The MD has succeeded  in convincing the BOD of the club to devote the second Saturday of the month to this endeavor. If they do not get a large enough turn-out for these matches, all his hard work may go for naught.

ICORE is kind of a cross between IDPA and USPSA, but is contested with revolvers. Here is a link to the rules that explains the Divisions and equipment needed.

LPRGC is located very near where the Oaks gun show is held. When you get off the ramp, from 422, you turn right instead of left. About a mile or so down the road is the entrance to the club, on the left. Below is the link to register...

Grab that revolver, that has only been gathering dust, and put it to good use. Right now there are only 5 people registered for this match and that includes Sgt Toadette and myself.

Adios,

Yes it is hanging in there. There will be a match on 07/13 starting at noon. In order to increase the number of participants, there will be an unofficial division for 1911's - any caliber, but restricted to eight rounds total, (7+1 to start) and mags loaded with 8 rounds on your belt. Here is the ICORE web page for LPRGC

https://lprgc.org/?page_id=3417

July's match will consist of the ICORE Postal match,  found here...

Plus a "fun" stage. To give you an idea, last month's fun stage consisted of three paper targets, interspersed with three pepper poppers, a plate rack bracketed by two more paper targets and then two, yes two, Texas stars.

A nice late start, so you can sleep in. With the addition of 1911's it will give you an opportunity to try it out before investing in a revolver - everyone needs at least one revolver.

LPRGC is within a stone's throw from where the Oaks Gun Show is held. Hope to see you there.

Adios.

    • So, if the “well-intentioned” NJ politicians theoretically outlaw, ban and confiscate every single gun, will that change anything? Dating back to before the 10 Commandments murder is illegal. Hurting and or assaulting someone without justification is illegal.
    • It's sunny out this morning. Could be tropospheric ducting?  Either that there was power issues at NJ101.5's station and they had to fire up the generators?  Who knows.
    • i know i've written about 101.5 before. you guys know i listen to it in the am otw work.    so this morning, at warwick and atlantic aves, it faded.....was fading into "jack and diane" song. couldn't tell what station. while stopped at the light, i couldn't hear 101.5 at all. as i took off, it got back to 101, but very choppy. when the newer looking mazda6 that was in back of me caught up at the next light, it was gone again. when i left from that light, same thng...choppy, and fading back n forth. it continued that way till i crossed the freeway, and as i passed the swim club on warwick, it went to just static. turned onto upland way in haddonfield, and just like someone flipped a switch, 101.5 came back crystal clear.  not really sure what to make of that. at first since it seemed worse when that mazda was close, i thought possibly something from that car was causing interference, but he went onto the freeway, and it continued. it doesn't make sense that this station would go wonky in just that 2 or 3 mile strip......
    • As noted, it's a standard engineering issue of "how much, how often" . . . I had a BMW 530 that would ping with anything less than 93 octane gas.  If one of my kids put a tank of regular in it, the pistons didn't burn right through.  I'd start topping the tank off with some premium until the pinging stopped.  There was never any damage done.   At the same time, I just don't see any reason for +P much less +P+ . . . My father gave me a bucket of .38SP a year ago and I unloaded all of the +P rounds but I was putting them through an old Colt revolver.
    • I read the article on my wife's iPad but couldn't copy the text out. Does anyone have access to copy here? https://www.nj.com/politics/2021/11/from-taxes-to-guns-to-abortion-heres-what-to-expect-from-gov-murphys-second-term.html
