And they were 'displayed' all over the place. And members of the school rifle team took their rifles on the school bus on match days. (I was not one of them.) Can you believe it? Sounds like we were from the same era. That was my experience as well. I always had guns as a kid, western guns, snub nose detective revolvers, golden gun mini-replicas, and the like.
