To clarify...

The NJSP letter includes a copy of the ATF determination letter on our DS-15 Typhoon firearm (non-NFA) which has the  ATF language of measured with the stock extended.

NJSP measures with the stock collapsed

ATF measures with the stock extended

It does not make sense that they measure differently, but they do.

Hope this helps.

Thanks DSI...Awesome Firearm btw

@Modern Materiel What modifications are allowed... can i swap out muzzle brake for a Sure Fire and attach a Warden blast diffuser?? i believe it still over 26"

You can add the Griffin Ind blast shield to the MM Brake that is already on there.

I am a big fan of their brake. Shoots very flat and soft.

I think the MM version are shipping out with A2 Flash hiders. I was talking to someone over at MM on instagram a few days ago and i think only the initial batch is shipping with the MM Brake.

Yes we are shipping with A2 birdcages. For a couple reasons. It's an effective Muzzel device. No one in NJ ever was allowed to have them and now you can and they are cost effective so you can swap it out to whatever cool flash hider you like...

Phone was updating ..

so....

I had the opportunity to shoot the full Modern Material line up yesterday with the main focus on the SBF. While conditions weren’t the best, random thunderstorms, rain, 90*+ degrees with roughly 100% humidity, I was able to make quite a few shots on steel targets varying between 50-100 yards using a red dot. I am not a good shooter mind you and the humidity did cause my glasses to fog adding to the challenge. The SBF was extremely light, accurate, (as accurate as I could be), and surprisingly was not as loud as I thought for its short size. It was actually rather tame! If anyone has ever considered something small for home defense, this would probably be the best alternative hands down.

I will be ordering one of these in the near future from MM. what an awesome little package!!

Surefire makes a direct-to-thread version of their Warden diffuser so there's no need to get a muzzle brake.  Not sure about any impact to performance going direct-to-thread but it'd save you a few bucks from having to get the brake as well.

IIRC, firearm must be measured with the brace in the closed position because minimum overall length must be greater than 26" for it to be considered not concealable. Under 26" is considered concealable.

Regarding the extended length, I was told it referred to a "rifle's typical length of pull" (which was in the vicinity of 13", sorry for not being more specific or having the links bookmarked for pasting). Therefore, if the extended stabilizer has a LOP around 13" it could be construed to act as a shoulder fixture rather than a forearm stabilizer or cheek weld.

I will try follow up with links later.

One IOI in CT said this. There is no law or regulation. Good luck looking.

Just picked this up from MM on Thursday. Fit and Finish is excellent. Probably only change will be to a LaRue 2 Stage trigger and maybe some offset iron sights.

Nice. I love the color.

I’m curious.

Why get offset irons?

Why not regular back up iron sights (BUIS)?

Offsets are a great option if using an optic that precludes you from flipping standard sights up - like a LPVO or other magnified optic. But on the setup in your photo, with a RDS, a set of standard BUIS are faster to deploy and simpler to use IMO.

Because its kewl to turn your gat to the side and shoot.

No, because not sure if they will be visible thru the Romeo. Besides all my scope mounted AR's have canted sights. They are "back up" sights and will only be used that way.

Searched this forum but didn't see anything on this yet.
Has anyone played with the Magpul DAKA grid organizers yet? Seems nifty but anyone has one that can provide feedback on them? Losta vidoos online. Yer thoughts
I know some will say $130 for Styrofoam? I guess it's just the modularity that appeals to me. Got a Pelican 1720 for Christmas and was looking at the closed foam option and ran across this too.

Well folks, I'm back with another deal. I've seen what's been going on with 5.56 and .223 pricing, and I hate it as much as you do. I went to a gun show yesterday and people were selling Winchester Service Grade 5.56 for $0.65 per round for a 1000-round case. That's ludicrous, and AmmoSeek doesn't give much better prospects, so I'm here to give a few lucky people a deal. As of 10/23/2023, I will have in my possession 1500 rounds of Winchester White Box 5.56 in 150-round Range Packs. I don't need all of them, so I would like to give y'all some of them. The best deal for any 5.56 on AmmoSeek right now with free shipping is $0.51 per round for some Igman stuff.
I'm offering these packs at $73.50 per box, or $0.49 per round. That includes tax! This is the best price that I've found anywhere on the internet for LC 5.56. If you buy more, I might be able to work with you on the price a bit more. Again, I have 8 boxes right now, and will have a total of 10 boxes on Monday, so it's first come first serve. PM me to tell me how much you want, in multiples of 150. If you want all of it, first to post "I'll Take It" wins.
Ammo is currently in Philadelphia PA, but I can go anywhere on the PATCO, Atlantic City, SEPTA, or Northeast Corridor rail lines. I've delivered to Trenton and Pennsauken before, as well as all over SE PA. I also have a base in Essex County, if you live out there I can get there relatively easily too. I'm keeping the little Winchester stickers, sorry!
