Chicago Lawmaker Encourages Constituents to Arm Up for Self-Defense

Recommended Posts

Interesting when these Anti-gun lawmakers all of a sudden become Pro-gun when they almost become a victim. Maybe more need that wake-up call?

Illinois State Rep. La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago) responded to the Windy City’s latest round of weekend shootings by encouraging his constituents to arm themselves for self-defense.

At least 41 people were shot, nine fatally, in Chicago July 12-14. Bullets struck Ford’s car during one of the shootings, prompting him to tell WLS-AM 890 News:

I’m working with a concealed carry instructor and we’re going to go through the neighborhood and we’re going to encourage people to get their concealed carry license because it makes no sense for people not to have the protections that they need.

At least 66 people were shot in Chicago, five fatally, over the 2019 Fourth of July weekend.  Additionally, at least 56 were shot, four fatally, the weekend prior to the Fourth of July.

On February 3, Chicago Business quoted State Rep. Ford pushing more federal and state gun control.

Eh, why criticize this?  It is a double standard when he's clearly encouraging OTHERS to do it too? Rather than a political flip-flop, the incident might have been a "wake-up call" for the guy. Lots of people are anti-gun... until something violent happens to them... they witness the lightning-fast speed during which it unfolds (seconds, not minutes)… and they realize, "wow, the cops could never have gotten here on time". That's a sobering thought.

If getting his car shot up is what it took to get Rep. Ford to pick up the clue phone and realize that legal gun owners and concealed carriers are NOT the problem... so be it! Let's just take the win. :D

Agreed 10,000,000%!!!

I swear, some of you guys would nit-pick a blowjob.

(apologies for the vulgarity Peel)

Isn’t this exactly the kind of win we need?

Isn’t this exactly what we constantly say needs to happen to get our legitimate point regarding personal protection across to the other side?

This is not a flip-flop.

This is not a “It is good for me and not for thee” moment.

This is, “Holy Shit! Violence happens with a quickness. You need to be able to protect yourself. Your safety is your responsibility! So go out there and prepare yourself to be able to defend yourself.”

As an elected official, a Dem no less, this guy is going door-to-door and trying to educate people on the 2A.

Rep. Ford could have just as easily hired bodyguards or requested an ISP protection detail/driver and been silent on the topic. Instead he learned from his experience and realized he is no more special than anyone else.

So when do you expect him to introduce a Bill that allows constitutional carry in IL or just Chicago?

Booker is a barely functioning moron driven by a lust for power and a self serving ideology.

He doesn’t have the common sense god gave a squirrel.

Hey, that's not being nice to squirrels... even though they taste just like chicken.. :yahoo:

Well, he is doing something Cory Booker would not do...

True.

Plus.. Cory Booker wants to release from jail a buy by the name of Underwood I believe. He was the leader of the extremely violent Vigilante drug gang because Booker says he is wrongly imprisoned. This guy ran a gang that killed about two dozen people.  Very bad dude. But Cory Booker talks about him like he’s Martin Luther King.

This is the new crazy as shit world democrats want all of us to live in.  Why would this guy being out not worry Cory Booker?  Because he’s a US Senator.  He isn’t exposed to the threat of people like Underwood.  He doesn’t live in that world.  But the most of the rest of us do.

So keep in mind...that the people who vote for Booker, Clinton and any other dem...are OK with this crap.  They have no problem with this viscous son of a bitch being on the street.  They’ll say they are against it... but thats a lie.  They vote for these people knowing full well what they support.  To them its an acceptable compromise.

And this is just one of the reasons we are right to say that liberals are enemies of America.

But good for this guy from Chicago. He seems to have seen the light.

Then it occured to me most thugs in jail would vote demcorat if they could and of course democrats dont want dead voters.

Sure they do. Democrats don't discrimate.  Criminals, illegals, dead, all the same to Dems when it comes to counting the votes.
