Hello everyone...

I need some help confirming.  First, is it true that 223/5.56 can be fired thru a 223 Wylde barrel?  Second, will PSA ship complete AR uppers to NJ?  I see that have a nice deal on a .223 Wylde upper.

Thanks in advance,

YES!

YES!

Hope this helps!:)

"The .223 Wylde has the same chamber angling as the standard 5.56 chamber, so there's no problem with pressures, and it also has a .2240 free bore diameter. ... You have a chamber that can still handle the hotter5.56 military cartridge pressure, and you get the accuracy when shooting the more accurate .223 cartridges."

Thank you @JohnnyB and @Maksim

No problem.

The real issue between the 5.56 and 223 is not so much the pressure as a 223 chamber should handle it, rather it is the shorter throat.

The 223 Wylde and other hybrid chamberings aim to solve that issue.

So my own barrels are 223 Wylde or 223 Wylde/White Oak Armament speced.

Here is a great video on the difference in the two.

Btw, keep in mind most factory 223/556 ammo will work anyway, where you have to watch it is the NATO spec milsurplus which does get loaded a bit hotter... but if you are reloading or buying your ammo from Walmart... (In America)... then this is not an issue.
