Legal in NJ but how about other states?

Ok, so we all know non-NFA are good to go in NJ. Cool and hooray!  But what about taking your boom-stick to, let's say PA, NH, Ohio, etc.... for training, range time, or whatnot. Normally long guns and pistols are fine.

Does it mean the NJ legal non-NFA firearm suddenly becomes illegal because its SBR and no tax stamp? It's outside NJ so either local or federal laws now apply.

No.  How do you think I have mine in PA? =)

They are "other firearms" as classified by the ATF... NJSP okays that.

They are just the same "Other Firearms" in other states.  In free states, there are no issues with them, i.e. PA and are transferred and sold as such.

Generally though, they are sold sans the vertical grip and are transferred as pistols.

You do have other states, like NY, MA and I believe CA, where these guns do not fly as the state laws have their own interpretations and codes that prohibit certain features. 

 

Btw... they are still pistol braces... and why they are not SBRs in PA for the same reason as they are not SBR in NJ. =)

Take a look at my first video on these firearms, I go into reasons why someone living in Free America would want one.  Namely, you cannot add a VFG (vertical fore grip) to a "pistol"... but you can to an "other firearm" as that is how it was designed to be fired.
