Pellet Gun Ideas

Not too familiar wit air rifles.  Any thoughts on a good pellet gun for a teenager to plink with, supervised?  Obviously she wouldn't have "ownership" of it.  Would the Beeman Combo be a good choice?  The ability to shoot .177 and .22 might be nice.  How about the Gamo Big Cat? Any other thoughts?  Maybe a .22LR bolt gun would be better?  Budget is under $200.

For a teen I'd go right to a .22 lever action rifle. As long as said teen is good at following directions.

My 3 year old daughter has one of those, its a little big for her but a teenager would probably  get board of it pretty quick

I was going to get a RWS 34 but ended up with an Xisico XS25 which is a Chinese clone.  That one slides in under your budget, unlike the real RWS

She already has a pink Daisy lever-action BB gun.  The more I think about it, I think a 22LR might be better idea and to skip the pellet gun all together. 

A bolt-gun would certainly be a nice first choice, but a semi-auto might be interesting, too.  A 13-year old should be able to handle a semi-auto.  Maybe a 10/22 or a Marlin 795.  Not sure if the stock would be too long, though.

Get her an AR15 carbine with a .22LR conversion kit.  Adjust the stock fully closed to start and let her grow into it!  Don't forget to get the shoulder thing that goes up!

She would probably love that.  The only thing is that she doesn't like to aim.  She likes to shoot as fast as she can and that would certainly encourage her trigger happiness.

A single shot, bolt action is the solution.   Teach her the fundamentals.  Teach her precision shooting.  That has to come before one gets to enjoy the pleasures of rapid fire.

Check out the TCR22. It’s like a upgraded 10/22 for a pretty fair price. A bit over your budget, but it can grow with her.

Just load 1 round into the mag. Tell her accurate shooting gets more than one round in the mag. 

I started out with a marlin 39a but only 1 round was loaded into the tube at a time. When I could hit the soda can 100% of the time I was allowed more than one round.
