Homeowner Stops Home Invasion With AR15

Recommended Posts

I don't know, that video seems kinda set up and staged. First, the camera is pointed perfectly at the door. Second, the guy was in no hurry when he heard the guys banging on the door, and even his buddy didn't come out to investigate either. He looks out the peep hole and see strange guys at his door, but DOESN'T lock his deadbolt???

Then he leaves the area to get his AR. When the door is kicked in, there is no damage to the door frame, and the guys were instantly surprised, almost if they knew what was going to be behind door number one... then, his buddy finally comes out of the shadows... hmmmm...

It just seems strange...

If you watch the video you will see the dead bolt was engaged you can see it protruding when the door is open. He didn't have to lock his door when he looked out because it was already locked.

As for looking like no damage. Welcome to the age of shitty construction. It is likely that the trim was secured poorly by a couple of brad nails and just popped a couple of them out rather than splitting. All the damage would be behind the intact trim piece that is no longer flush with the wall.

Listening to it it seems plausible these guys wee knocking on other doors and the guy looked out and casually got his AR and waited out of frame to see if they came by his place. Which they did and then shit happened.

You really don't know shit about construction, do you (among other topics)...

If the deadbolt was locked, when the door was kicked in, it would have ripped out a section of the door jamb and ripped the inside trim off. There was no shattering of any parts of the door casing in that video..

You sound like Greenday, more and more each day...

Dude. Ive seen it happen.  Likely under the trim is the damage, which isn't visible in potato-vision because the trim is flapping hooked on at one end rather than snapping. You can still see the deadbolt protruding if you watch the video full screen. It's not super clear but it's there.

You just like trying to be an insulting dick. I get it. Not sure what commenting about shit apartment construction has to do with green day, but you go be you and hang your idiocy out there foll bore.

What's your problem? Maybe it is real, maybe fake? Raz-o was giving his opinion on why he thought it was real. Why do you always have to attack people the way you do? If you don't agree with their opinion, state something in a sane and respectful way. Raz-o didn't bash you personally, just gave his opinion. You seem to do this a lot.

Some people in their basements. Conquering the world one post at a time, jus acting like a douche.

radius of door+ offset of bore+ reveal on strike side leaves a lot of variables to Monday morning. But it’s not surprising given poster

I take it back. iot can also be shitty modern door ocnstruction.

You will notice the molding doesn't really show damage.

and another. the interior molding doesn't show damage, and the inside molding pulls back together.

from a physical security standpoint - any thumb type lock that does not leave the frame of the door assembly and proceed into the wall 2x4 framing can be defeated very easily.

Even then - Couple that with a poor lock, poor door construction itself and improper assembly - that kick in is very believable.

Chains on doors are no good - short bolts are no good - even the levers in the hotel rooms are not very secure.

This is what you want (or something like it) :
