david8613 69 Posted October 3, 2019 Years ago I had many different hand gun calibers from .380 all the way up to 44 mag. since then i have down sized my collection because it was getting too hard to keep track of so many multiple guns in multiple calibers. Here is the situation all my hand guns now are all in 9mm, and it feels like I'm missing something. Plus I still have some ammo of all those calibers doing nothing in my safe. I miss my 10mm! Anyway I'd like to hear your thoughts on this subject.
Vicious 138 Posted October 3, 2019 4 handgun calibers, 2 rifle calibers and 22LR across a few different guns. I am not a fan of stocking different calibers, but I keep enough around for a few range trips for the more collectible pieces.
raz-0 1,259 Posted October 3, 2019 If you count 12ga as a caliber, I have eight, use four.
Zeke 5,504 Posted October 3, 2019 Counting gauges 8 but I only have a good supply of 9 and 223 and 12. It’s what I most shoot. A few boxes for everything though
Old Glock guy 1,127 Posted October 3, 2019 I have tried to consolidate calibers, and not stock too many of them. My first handgun was .40 caliber, but I never shoot it, so I only have a small quantity of ammo for it that I bought a long time ago. I have stockpiled 9 mm, 5.56/.223, 7.62, .22LR, and 12 gauge. Keeps it simple for me.
Vicious 138 Posted October 3, 2019 Oh yeah, add 12 gauge to my list... I do use all of them at one time or another. 12 gauge the least probably.
Grapeshot 301 Posted October 3, 2019 .17 for fun .22 across a few different handguns and rifles 9 mm and .38/.357 because of course .30-30 for deer 12 gauge for clays 20 gauge when I’m feeling lucky

DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted October 3, 2019 5 calibers/1 gauge.. I try to minimize caliber sprawl. I do have several calibers that I use in both handguns and carbines/rifles. Use them all regularly.

david8613 69 Posted October 3, 2019 Whaaaat???? No squirt guns??? But seriously I used to shoot alot of 40. But I had other calibers. Now all my hand guns are 9mm, but in long guns I have a couple of flavors 556, 12 gauge and 308. Been thinking about adding a 22 in this area.

njJoniGuy 2,131 Posted October 3, 2019 Not a single 9 here. Now, why would I want the caliber that lost two world wars? But I do have : .45acp .45LC (incl .410ga.derr) .45-70 Govt. .22LR .177 5.56 mm 10 mm .40 S&W .380acp 7.62x54R .357 mag 12 ga.
1brentenfan 9 Posted October 3, 2019 I currently own handguns in 4 different caliber- 9 mm, 10 mm, 45 & 40. I have quite a lot of 9 mm ammo that I like to bring whenever I go to the range. The 9's include a Taurus PT 92, Sig P226 Glock 19 & a 226 Legion. All of them are really good guns. My favorite thing about the 9's is that the ammo is still relatively inexpensive, as I recently bought 4 boxes of 115 gr. FMJ at the A C Bass Pro Shop for $9.99/box. Next time I am in A C I may stock up on some more if they have it on sale again.
father-of-three 242 Posted October 3, 2019 Hmm.... that's nine calibers for me, and you can never have too much ammo, as the saying goes. I even have some surplus nagant revolver ammo in cool little boxes with Russian print, but when the $99 nagant revolvers "disappeared," I gave up on them and entered the world of tokarev. Holy crap... I forgot about all those "guns" I have in my possession.. I have a armory in my garage and shop, and I didn't even realize it.... damn, I better hope the ATF doesn't show up.. I'd have a hard time coming up with the COE for all of them.

njJoniGuy 2,131 Posted October 4, 2019 Good indoor pellet gun practice is much better than no practice at all. What else are you going to shoot in your apartment, closely surrounded by other apartments?
