An ‘other’ AR question..

I just ordered a couple of new Mega Machine and Tool lowers (like I NEEDED to build more ARs,  lol). The dealer will receive them in a week or so, I have some time to think about my options. 
I’m seriously considering building one of them as an ‘other’ AR. 

Does the lower have to be transferred to me as an ‘other’, or exactly how does that work? I don’t know how this works on the FFL end. 
My FFL tells me he receives the lowers from the MFG classified as ‘stripped lowers’, and he can transfer them to me as ‘rifle’, ‘pistol’, or ‘other’ when I take possession. This doesn’t sound right to me, so I thought I’d pick ya’lls brains about it. 

If it winds up being a big pain in the balls to do this, I’ll just transfer them as rifle lowers, and put them in the stash until we move to Texas in 2 years...then SBR them. 
 

My thoughts are using a Colt 6943 11.5” monolithic upper (those mono uppers are incredible!) with a VFG.

If it has no "Lock, Stock and Barrel", it is an other.
