The first year was great..I'd say this second one is pretty good..it seemed a little short to me but worth checking out IMO Everytime I see the guy that plays Jack I expect to see Dwight Schrute jump out from somewhere. Mrs. Peel 7,148 Posted February 9, 2020 I'm resurrecting this thread because I finally saw the movie "1917" tonight. OMG! It was at once epic... majestic... raw... emotional (even heart-rending)… riveting... and the cinematography was utterly phenomenal. I'm a movie buff...so I like to lose myself in movie... but that doesn't mean I'm necessarily impressed by a lot of them. This one though left me gobsmacked. It was everything that a great movie should be. And, it really deserves a "big screen" (I think it would lose a lot of impact viewed at home)... so if you haven't seen 1917 yet, I highly recommend you do so soon as I think it must be on the very tail end of its theater run. Two. Thumbs. Waaaay. Up.

Two. Thumbs. Waaaay. Up. I agree, it was very good. One of the very best I've seen in this awards season. My wife and I managed to watch all 9 Academy Award best picture nominees this year-a bit of a slog trying to fit them all in before tomorrow's awards. We don't go out to that many movies, but made it a quest this year. Oddly enough, 1917 was less violent than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Joker, and Parasite. And the opposing sides got along better than in Marriage Story.
