Sounds like good job all around. School had an SRO in place, and seems like procedures as well. Student reported the gun to the SRO. SRO immediately did what he was there to do. The "good people" all go home safe.

The question now is how did a 17yr old get procession of a handgun? I may be in the minority here, but if it belonged to a family member and was not secured, that family member needs to be held responsible.

Agreed. Responsible ownership needs to be stressed.

Thank God the resource officer reacted so fast and no one innocent got hurt.
