Bloomberg shows his hand on his Gun Laws if he's President

Recommended Posts

He was at a rally in CO earlier, and this is his plan (not surprising)....

Democratic presidential contender Michael Bloomberg unveiled a gun control policy on Thursday just steps from the site of one of Colorado’s worst mass shootings, calling for a ban on all assault weapons, mandatory permits for gun purchasers and a new position in the White House to coordinate gun violence prevention.

The policies Bloomberg outlined Thursday largely mirror those he fought for on the state and federal levels in recent years, though it’s the first time he’s released his specific prescription for gun violence as a presidential candidate.

Among the highlights, Bloomberg’s plan would:

-- Reinstate the federal ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

-- Require every gun buyer to obtain a permit before making a purchase.

-- Require point-of-sale background checks on all gun purchases while closing the gun show loophole.

-- Institute a new age limit of 21 for those wishing to buy handguns, semi-automatic rifles and shotguns.

-- Require a mandatory 48-hour waiting period for all gun purchases.

-- Institute a federal “red flag” law to deny permits to “troubled people who pose a danger to themselves or others.”

-- Institute a temporary ban on gun possession for those convicted of assault or other violent misdemeanors.

-- Ban all guns in K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, except for law enforcement.

-- Reverse the law that gives gun makers and gun dealers immunity from lawsuits.

-- Create the position of White House gun coordinator “to mobilize the public to fight gun violence and launch an inter-agency hub to fight gun violence.”

The only surprise is that it isn’t worse

Confiscation will start after he's elected. He's smarter than Beto.

He will not nor does not want to win.

Do NOT get lost in the woods!

I believe you are correct.    Bloomberg's entry into the race,  The phony impeachment which is designed to sideline warren and sanders are all a play to open up the nomination for hillary clinton.       Its time for AG Barr to reopen the clinton e-mail crimes and lock her up!

The sad part is that there will be gun owners throughout the U.S. who vote for him believing that he will not take away their trap guns or turkey guns.  after all nobody needs an AR-15 with a 100 clip action to hunt.

BTW, and speaking of FUDDS,  have any of the candidates dressed up in hunting clothes yet pretending to be 2A supporters and heading out into the fields chasing some upland birds?

What really burns me about Bloomberg is he is such a $(%&^)#$ hypocrite on guns.

Here's an example of the security detail he traveled with when he was mayor:

He apparently loves being in Berumuda at his house there - it was an issue when he was mayor, how much time he actually spent in NYC vs. Bermuda.

He apparently obtained special permission for his security detail to be armed in Bermuda when most police there do not have firearms:

Quote

... The mayor also takes along a police detail when he travels, flying two officers on his private plane and paying as much as $400 a night to put them up at a hotel near his house; the city pays their wages while they are there, as it does whether Mr. Bloomberg is New York or not. Guns are largely forbidden in Bermuda — even most police officers do not use them — but the mayor’s guards have special permission to carry weapons. A spokesman for the Police Department declined to comment. ...

Oh you are wrong. He is definitely in it to win it. You are just confused by the fact that he doesn't have to be president to have won.

He want's power and influence. He wants to have more of it than anyone else. That's his goal.

He's running so that he'll either be president, or that he will be the guy steering the democratic party. He's fine with either.

Right now in the DNC there's a fight between the hillary branch and obama branch of the DNC. More accurately team hillary controls hillary's donors and team obama controls obama's donors, they don't necessarily have much if anything to do with the personal opinions of either hillary or obama.  There's nobody big enough in the party to make these two factions play nicely together and nobody charismatic enough to do it either. Which is why we have all this neo-marxist leftism getting big air time. It's trying to buy influence with sound bites instead of dollars. Intended or not, this is making a lot of the people providing the money on both those lists hesitant to continue donating money. Bloomberg has money. There's a power vacuum right now.  He'll be the president or he'll be the new Soros.

Funny tidbit about Bloomberg.  Years ago, I used to work for his competition in the newswire business.  His main campus is not far from the Princeton area.  Many college grads were thrilled to get hired there as it was a good paying job.  They would enthuse about getting free lunch provided to them each day, not realizing until later that this was intended to keep them yoked to their desks all day and not waste time going out for lunch.  lol!  The whip cracked early and often.

If you want to see what Bloomberg's plans for gun owners are, just look at VA. They got bought and paid for by him and are floating everything he asked for. That shit didn't come out of nowhere.

Bingo! And Bloomberg just stated after the Texas church shooting that civilians shouldn't have guns in public. Only the police and military.

This link is encouraging.  Bloomberg has spent $200 million already on advertising, not counting his paid campaign staff which I believe is over 300 employees.  He’s promised to spend a billion or more on his campaign. He’s not campaigning in the early polling states-Iowa, NH, etc-instead going all-in on the Super Tuesday states when the largest number of delegates will be selected, just 8 weeks from now

So what is this laser-like focus and potential billion dollar investment likely to buy him?

Polls today indicate that he is on track to pick up exactly ZERO delegates on Super Tuesday
