CZ 527 American

[RobCo 16]

Is anyone familiar with the CZ 527 ? I was looking at one in a shop the other day and they look nice but I've heard they have problems with the stock cracking behind the receiver tang

I think @Mrs. Peel has the .22 /.17 version

Yes, the Model 457 (I have The Scout - the compact version). If there was an issue with stocks cracking, I doubt it would happen with the light rifle anyway - more likely the heavier models. Though I also read up on the bigger caliber models and don't remember reading anything about that! In fact, most of what I've read and heard is that the CZ is a very good manufacturer that turns out well-made products.

I would think if CZ had a known issue, they would have resolved it. 

 

Besides, if you had to send it back to them, CZ probably will send it back to you better then new.
