In just under a week the NJGF crew will be heading to Shot Show in Vegas. This year there will be 3 forum members going and will be there for the extent of the show.
So... any guns or aspects of the show you want to make sure are covered?
On my list right now are the new Glock twins, 43X and 48 and the new Colt King Cobra.
Anyone from here going?
Things are finally freeing up a tad here and will be able to attend. NJGF will be represented by @Krdshrk and myself. We will be attending the show and the invite only Media Day at the Range.
I do have one more invite available as part of our crew, although it is time sensitive. If you are interested in going, let me know. Dates are Jan 21st through 25th.
Just got back from Media Day 2012 for Shot Show. Holy crap, what an epic day.
Shot out to 960 meters with a 416 Barret, shot clays with 3 gun open guns, and $$$$ Browning shot guns, blasted steel with high end Sphinx IPSC guns, shot both semi auto suppressed Kriss Vectors, and Select Fire SBR Kriss Vectors, Suppressed 300 AAC Blackout S&W M&P 15 rifle? check. Wasted hundreds of dollars of Winchester zombie ammo? Check. Shot over priced HK, cause we're better than you rifles? Check. Shot the brand new Sig P224 and chatted with the lead designer of the gun? Check. How about a new pocket 45 XD Slim? Check.
Chatted with Jerry Mucilek, Rob Leathen, JJ, Taran, Rob Pincus, and all the other who's who in the shooting community.
Wayyyyyyyyy tooo much fun. Ask away, and will be sure to put it into the blog entry with some videos.
This is by far, the most fun Jon and I have had at the range. EVER!
Anybody got a late model Rav4? Later than 2016? Ever heard a sound in the passenger cabin resembling the beat and pulse of a locomotive, sometimes so strong it sounds like the cab is going to shake apart? Want to get rid of it?
Close the open rear window.
Seriously. I made a Monday service appointment for our 2019 Rav4 because that's what it sounded like inside the cab last week once it was moving over 35 mph. It turns out there's an aerodynamic anomaly that causes it when one or both rear windows are open at least a couple inches.
This happened originally on our 2016 and I forgot about it. But then it happened in a much more subdued way last week on our 2019. I inspected the wheels and wells but couldn't see anything so I made the appointment. Then two days ago I had it out and the noise was gone. WTF? Then I took my wife out in it last night for a test ride, and that's when the light bulb went on. I remembered seeing one rear window open just an inch or two, which happened by mistake. And then I closed it. I never connected the window to the noise because it was winter, there shouldn't be any open rear windows, and the gap was so small the effect was much more subtle. It sounded like a tire or wheel problem. If the window is open all the way it makes the cab almost unbearable.
I took a third 2019 Rav4 out today and clearly demonstrated it again. I'll bring this to the service desk's attention tomorrow. And our lease rep.
The panic will begin this week..... i just picked up another 30gal of fuel for the gen y and yard equipment in case.... box of gloves and bourbon.
We always have at least months worth or more of foodstuffs around...my wife is hitting rockaway tomorrow anyways and we will add to the pile.
Don't know what to make of it....i am more concerned over the sheep than the bug...bit the latter is not to be discounted.
We shall see, this week will be very telling
And, just like that.... they're gone.... missed my window of opportunity in just 3 days....
