I concur with the mod in the sombrero! ;)

Seriously, @AVB-AMG.. I've been lucky enough to attend quite a few events that had high-level speakers (e.g., George W. Bush while he was POTUS, Madeline Albright, Shirley Chisholm, etc.). There's always a certain amount of pomp and circumstance when a high-level speaker is afoot, particularly a sitting POTUS (POTUS swaggers in with a cadre of Secret Service agents - it's kinda badass really)… and that stands separate and apart from their actual political views. As others pointed out, they're big, newsworthy events - especially in our tiny garden state. How's this? If the next Democratic president holds a rally in NJ, feel free to put it in General Discussion!

Mipafox was controversial and at times a ball breaker but he was ALWAYS on our side! He would become obnoxious when he saw people complaining about NJ gun laws but never getting off their asses to fight back and do something about it!

National press already going with the narrative that NJ is deep blue and most of the attendees are from out of state.

Yeah, maybe it is all of the people that left NJ because of the high taxes, corruption, crime and lack of freedom returning to their homeland  to stand for America and liberty.. Oh wait, no politics, right.  AVB are there any good Hotdog or Pizza places in Wildwood?

Mrs. Old Glock guy and I got down there around 5:30 on Tuesday evening.  We had no trouble getting through and finding parking about three quarters of a mile away.  We strolled over to the convention center, and were on the admission line by around 5:40.  The line was moving, and people were still getting in even that late.  We weren't really all that close when they shut the doors, so we hung out, chatted with some nice people, and watched the speech on the giant monitor.  The President was energized, as always, and it was great to see Van Drew up there with him.  The crowd was surprisingly mellow.  There were some cheers and polite clapping, but no one was raucous. I did not see any protests or other agitators.  We were glad we went.

Afterward,we stopped at Mud Hen brew pub nearby, where we were joined by lots of people in Trump attire who were coming from the rally.  By the time we had a quick dinner, traffic had dissipated, and we were able to cruise out of there up to our shore place in Seaside Park.

They were there, in small numbers, spouting the normal CNN delusional, incoherent narrative..

...."The protest was led by grassroots group Cape May County Indivisible, whose representatives said they expected up to 30 other organizations to also attend.

"The main reason why we're here is we feel like we have a moral obligation to show up, take a stand, and reject the racism, and bigotry, misogyny and corruption of this administration," Cassandra Gatelein of Cape May County Indivisible said. "But also this is going to be very unifying for us and a way to build power to make this country better for everyone."

The crowd of protesters had swelled to about 250 people by 4:30 p.m.

"We didn't know we'd be at this spot in three years," McClintock continued. "We were kinda hoping he'd just be normal and do things that presidents do, but that's not what he did. He's taken away everything we care about, including our environment, our education, cuts in that, cuts in social security, he doesn't want people to have healthcare and he lies ... all the time."

Many protesters held the Baby Trump balloons that have become commonplace among those opposed to the president.

Not all protesters kept their cool, though.

One woman, seemingly fed up with comments from Trump supporters, marched to the front of the crowd and returned an expletive-laden chant to boos from the president's backers.
