Mr.Forks 20 Posted February 8, 2020 What do you guys use in the way of portable shooting benches? I'm not against building my own but its a bring out what you bring in deal, so weight is a big consideration. I've seen a portable plywood one on ebay but the cost was pretty extreme. Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted February 8, 2020 There are several collapsible / portable ones commercially available. Check places like Midway or Natchez. Usually run around $100 & up. Adios, Pizza Bob

Mr.Forks 20 Posted February 10, 2020 Anyone with hand on experience with any? Everything online looks great until it arrives at my house and I hate it.
BillC. 26 Posted February 10, 2020 I use a home made copy of the Portektor #53 Shooting Bench (google it) . 3/4" plywood 2ft x 4ft with folding legs from a junk table. added a couple angle iron rails to make it stiffer. not to heavy, folds fairly flat , bring a a folding chair for a seat. cost about $15, only had to buy the plywood

Where did you add rails to stiffen it, under the table top or to the legs?
BillC. 26 Posted February 18, 2020 under the top, the long way between the leg bases. used the leg mounting bolts. just some scrap angle I had. 3/4 ply alone is good enough for shooting, the angle iron makes it stiff enough to sit on with out flex.
