So Murphy just said that the legislature is passing laws this week that underpin the EO's that were issued. So if you want to be pro-active about seeing what is going on beneath all of this, find out what laws they are passing that reinforce those EO's.

State law doesn’t overrule the us constitution.  They can try.... but they will ultimately lose.

One can only hope. They have done a fairly good job of trampling the 2nd amendment in this state.

Shutting down hasn't helped either.  So what is the choice stay open and keep the economy going and people die or shut everything down, violate the constitution, destroy the economy and people die anyway?

Not so much of a difficult choice.,

PS: Sure about those numbers?   A month ago no one was being tested for Corona, now everyone with the sniffles is being tested.  What a surprise the more you test the more you find.  When any where from 50%-86% of "victims" show ZERO symptoms, how do you know how many case there are?

Correct.   Positive test results are not evidence of increased spreading.  Its evidence of “seek and you shall find”.

True.  But that fight isn’t over.  Also, you will have FAR more people screaming about the loss of freedom of assembly for example.  Sure...people are willing to modify their activity for a short time in what they are told are threats to someone’s life.  But as the story unfolds and more questions arise about the justification and effectiveness of these actions, the more pushback we see.

Ah, okay.  I finally get where you are coming from.  You would have the peanut allergy kid isolated just so you can enjoy the tremendous god given, constitutionally protected right to eat a fucking sandwich.

Yes.  You  are finally catching on.  It is incumbent on the person with the problem to deal with it.  It is not everyone ELSES responsibility to make concessions.

But I guess you are all about racing to the bottom.   Pretend you are an adult and try some personal fucking responsibility.

Jeez.

You wearing a mask makes you safer. If you don't get sick, you can't get anyone else sick.  This makes me safer.

It is both self interest and mutual benefit.

Oh, so you know better than me how I should live my life thanks, but ill make my own decisions on my safety.

No one should ride motor cycles they are dangerous, therefore they should not be allowed.

No one should have a car that goes more than 65 mph.  ETC ETC ETC.

And once again I'm pretty sure you  can't pass a disease that you don't have so it makes you none safer.

That is EMPHATICALLY not my argument.  That is your very poorly cobbled together projections and a non sequitur.

Are you sure you are healthy?  Absolutely positive, like you have an Abbott ID-NOW machine on your kitchen counter with a fridge fully stocked with reagents, assuming you know how to run an assay.  Can your smarmy selfish ass be 100% sure that you are not or will not become an asymptomatic carrier wandering around spreading this disease?

If you answer yes, we will ALL know what kind of man you are.

Yes it is exactly your argument.  Give up your rights and liberties so that I feel safer.  That is your argument.   That is exactly the turn in your guns argument.

So you being the dumbass lemming you are, plan on wearing a mask for the rest of your life, because you never know someone in the next aisle may have something.  Good luck with that.

Please tell me how the mask you were not wearing a week ago is all of a sudden gonna keep you safe this week.

Can you learn how to be an adult and take responsibility for yourself?   Or do you need someone to tell you how to function in every aspect of your life?   Yo have the mentality of a child.

Your like the tool on a plane on a flight i was on once...lil boy had a severe nut allergy, some  dummy business man complained he had to give up his nuts....while the rest of the flight willingly gave em up.....  it was glorious watching him get abused verbally by the rest of the passengers due to his abject narcissism

Go look in the mirror and be ashamed....

Wow, another race to the bottom Genius.  I'm sorry your daughter has allergies, but believe it or not, it's yours and your daughters issue to deal with.  It is not everyone responsibility to make sure she doesn't every get near something that might cause her issues.

Also do whatever you like that just endangers yourself. Also stop putting words in other people's mouths.

"Compassion and empathy for your fellow man" , says the guy that laughs when he is told about a person behaving normal is ridiculed by others.  Hypocrite much.  If your "management plan" requires something from others besides normal decency  (Breathing and eating are normal human functions), then your management plan sucks and needs to be revised.

Aren't they special that everyone else has to change to meet their needs.  Talk about narcissistic.

Guess what,  there is almost nothing in the world that someone does not have an allergy to.  Should everyone give up everything, as to make sure that the allergic person won't have a reaction?  Or is it just for your case?

Yep another lemming.  How is that mask you didn't wear last week, that you are wearing this week, making you safer?  I guess its the same as someone breathing the same air you do.

So you plan on living in a bubble for the rest of your life?  Hey you never know when it will be back.

Good luck with that.

Oh and lets not forget that the masks are more or less ineffective.  But hey do whatever you are told.

Well, I WAS wearing masks last week. I wasn't wearing a mask a month ago, but a month ago, we weren't at or near peak infection, but were reducing people going out and people were keeping their distance and WE WEREN'T NEAR PEAK INFECTION.

Which means we had to contact a lot more people to statistically run into an infected person. The math on that is a LOT more unfriendly now.

As the rate of infections drop, then the odds of encountering infected people drops, and we go back to not having to take as many precautions.

I do not know what's wrong with you. If you wanted to rail about freedoms and the man, it'd make a lot more sense about using police powers to curtail freedom of assembly than people being prepared to say you are trespassing for not wearing a mask.  Or even the stupid rule about no more than two people in cars. Yeah, the local teenagers are driving around in parked cars. But they aren't my teenagers and if you raised stupid ones.. well it might kill you now. But they aren't putting the general population at risk. But for a family of four who are locked in together anyway. Making me interact with a higher risk individual because the rules were written by morons seems counterproductive.

But no.. you want to die on the hill of fuck you I'm not wearing no mask. Despite the benefit to you if you are disease free of reducing your chance of infection form those who are not.

I've been wearing a mask now for pushing a month when I go out.  I didn't need to be encouraged to do so.

Fortunately, work implemented this rule and we all got over our social inhibitions about it because we were required to.

I am _SO_ thankful for that as well, because two people I work closely with are MARRIED to people who have tested positive and have fairly bad symptoms from CV.     One is showing symptoms now, the other is not.     Fortunately, the person getting symptoms now and is a presumptive positive was wearing mask and gloves, as was I, during our recent close encounter of about 15 minutes in and out of 2m distance.   I don't know if she got it after or before or what, but it has now been 11 days, I seem to be good.  Her, not so much.

    • I very seriously doubt this has anything to do with terrorism.    1) Harbor pilots are VERY seriously vetted, and highly trained. Not to mention extremely well paid. My experience knowing a few of them, and knowing how they are recruited and screened tells me that there is a slim to highly unlikely chance that a harbor pilot would have participated in anything like that.    2) Maintenance of foreign flag ships is well known to be dubious. Especially these days. These were NOT US flag, Jones act sailors. It was (to my understanding) a largely Indian crew on that ship, with a Ukrainian Captain. Indian crews are not exactly known for being stellar.    3) The bunkers (fuel) these ships use is ‘Bunker C’, which is a heavy, dirty fuel oil that can, and usually is, pretty contaminated. This stuff ain’t your car grade gasoline or diesel fuel. It’s nasty.   It requires nearly constant filter changes and maintenance to the engine/generators. The ship took on fuel prior to departing port, which would stir up all kinds of shit in the fuel tanks, which would contribute to particulates in the fuel lines/filters.    4) I’d say the posting of the chief engineer for Maserek above was pretty spot on as far as chain of events.    This was a shitty accident, with horrible timing and outcome. Not a terror attack.
