LOL where the hell did you find that picture

That’s Garand Thumb. He’s an Active Duty Air Force - I think he was a PJ/SERE Instructor. He makes review videos of gear and firearms. He’s actually pretty funny, and his vids are decent most of the time.

What’s in his hand? A SIRT training pistol or a TV remote?

How fast could you make the determination of a shoot/no shoot under these common daytime, normal, lighting conditions if my son was actually an unknown person?

That homemade N95 mask looks really uncomfortable.  I think you used more painters tape than necessary.  But kudos for giving one to the dog as well!

@deerpark, sometimes you have to admit when you're wrong.  Like, right now.  You are wrong.   Whether it's bad information you received or a preconceived notion, either way, it's wrong.

You will never learn if you think you know everything.

You got your firearm training from a j lo movie?

"Firearm training from a j lo movie"?  I never said anything in my post about even having a firearm while moving about the house.  And I would move if I had to.  A firearm would be a last resort anyway............

Why is he wrong? Do you know his house better than he does?

@High Exposure  Great example you used!  The condition of your eyes also play a factor weather your pupils are dilated or not!

I like the way you positioned his fingers on the remote to show his good trigger discipline!

I had to use Photoshop to see that it was a remote.

So, uh, what do you do if you have a deadly force confrontation under normal daylight conditions? You know, where a bad guy can see you, and therefore your mere presence gives away your position?

You would do whatever the situation calls for, but primarily you would run away, as its a crime in NJ to protect yourself.

I still cant agree with the idea of essentially announcing your movements with a light, especially if he's armed (which you dont know).

In that case, he's literally just watching and waiting for you to come to him...

Regarding the concern over harming a family member or loved one (not mutually exclusive :D), everyone has different circumstances as to the layout of their homes and who does and doesnt live there.

A person's "plan" will depend on his or her specific situation.

One more time - for the cheap seats!

Lights aren’t only useful in complete darkness - they are often times necessary to discriminate targets even in daylight conditions.

The light doesn’t give your position away any more than your physical body does. Employing proper techniques for the use of the light as well as cover/concealment mitigate any negatives you may think are real. If a TTP (tactic/technique/procedure) will get you “kilt in da streets” with a WML, it will get you “kilt in da streets” without one.

The light isn’t for navigation. It is for target discrimination. The light has nothing to do with “knowing your home”.

He/She who powers through OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) first usually wins. Notice the first O - Observe. Being able to see well is crucial.

You're Wife:  "deerpark, save your family!"

Deerpark:  "according to NJ statute 5093A, I have a duty to retreat".  Plus, I can't see you because I don't have a light."

You're Wife:  "i married a fool, and a pussy."

Not for my individual circumstances.

Not even a little bit.

Having less tools on hand is a mistake.  A dangerous mistake.  A stupid mistake.  We can argue calibers and rifle/shotgun/pistol options but there isn't a trainer today that says what you preach.   Not one.

I don’t think you could explain it in any simpler terms....if they don’t get it, they don’t get it.

It’s sad we have these dumb fucks here. And they are allowed to spew constant bullshit, propaganda, and damn bad info. The hiding your guns from your kids  takes the cake.  Moron it’s against the law , and pretty much the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard. On you or locked up with kids
