When you purchase in pa as a joisey resident they call nj nics it should probably be renamed njics to avoid the confusion on Nics ( National Instapot criminal ck system)

I can legally buy handguns in PA as a resident. When I do they have to call PICS for the background check because I don't have a PA driver's license. Frequently a supervisor must be summoned because the frontline agents don't necessarily understand the legalities. But even with all that it's smoother and faster than NJ.

The one incident I did hear about from my PA FFL was when he had a non-citizen purchase a handgun. Since he was Canadian with a PA residence they had to check with ICE for international data. That meant a hang-up, wait time and a callback. In the same day.

Really? I was under the impression that my long gun buys at Tanner's went thru PICS.

so what will happen to them in the lawsuit?

Depends on what suit they bring to a now right leaning court.. and what argument they present.

Would be nice if they attacked the entire permitting system we have to pay for...

In NY the FFL uses the FBI website. It's fast and best of all no charge. Any state that sets up a middle man is doing it as a cash grab.

In NY you show them your NJ FID for a long gun (rifle/shotgun,)  and you're processed in minutes.  No fees except for the price of the firearm + tax. If you flunk the Federal NICS check you pay a penalty charge.

Most don't know what the COE is either.

At Murphy's pres conference this afternoon he was asked about the suit and claimed that every state that has a lock down stopped firearm sales. I guess he doesn't consider Illinois or Connecticut states. What a jackass.

Indoor and outdoor ranges are closed as well by executive order 107 according to CNJFO. Liquor stores? Somehow they're essential and still open.

Zene: Regardless of the state of residence of the purchaser, any firearm transaction is processed through the protocol of the state where the transaction takes place. In PA that would be PICS. Both PA and NJ are POC (point of contact) states which means there is a "middleman" between the dealer and the FBI NICS system. In the case of PA and NJ that would be the state police.

Adios,

I'm pissed that I can't go up to Cherry Ridge to shoot with all the newfound free time that I have available.  It's outdoors, and if we only use alternate benches, we can maintain social distance, so I don't get what the problem is?

My last 2 long gun purchases were from Tanner's in Jamison, PA. Both receipts list the price of the gun and a $10 "license" fee, both taxable. How much is PICS vs. NICS?

Yup. The flagship range for the ANJRPC, lots of irony here....

The NICS provides full service to the FFLs in 30 states, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. The NICS provides partial service to seven states. The remaining 13 states perform their own checks through the NICS.

You and me both, thought this would be a great, and safe outdoor activity and way to spend some family time!

Same.

I was there on Saturday with 2 of my kids and there was plenty of space between shooters.
