Army Mom New to NJGF

Recommended Posts

Glad to have found the NJGF!  A little about me:

I've owned guns and have been shooting for about 5 years. My husband and I have three children: one in college, one active duty Army, and one Army National Guard. We are all politically active and fight for our 2A rights among other important liberties that certain groups try to take from us.

I hope to visit from time to time and get to know folks and keep up with NJ gun info.

Welcome. We always welcome Excellent Wives. I know, because I have one.

And thank you and your family for their service to our country.

Keeping up with NJ gun info is a challenge. We all strive to meet it. And ultimately 'drive down the curve', to put it in current parlance.

Welcome and thank you to you and your family for their service.

After the world returns to normal ya' all should come out to one of the "Shotgun Shoot Outs" (clay shoots at Wildlife Management Areas).  LOTS of fun.  You don't need a shotgun.  Just bring clays and shells.  Plenty of people will share.

Taylor ham, of course (I'm raised in north Jersey!).

Will have to figure out the meatloaf thing at some point.

Can I reply directly under someone's post - or only here at the bottom?

Only here at the bottom - but you can click on the "Quote" button to quote them.... or the + button to multi quote if you want to reply to more than one.

A very learned person, I see.

Do not under circumstances try the meatloaf. Legend says the corona virus is mother nature teaching us a lesson for mixing fruit and meat in the same dish.

    • Is that even possible? LOL
    • It makes him look like an even bigger asshole! And that is hard to do!
    • That might be OK for Intrastate but wonder how that’s going to fly out of state?  I’d be a little on edge explaining to an out of state LEO,  "yes officer my CDL/DL expired but don’t worry our Gov said it’s OK". Heard of radio this morning Murphy put the brakes on the DMV overnight camping excursions, . I guess the optics on that didn’t look good for the gov.
    • The point is that you DO have control over your direct dollars and the way you spend them.  If you need a new baseball bat or sneakers Nike will get the money for it, and NJ will get the taxes, but you can absolutely keep Dick's out of the loop. Particularly for guns and ammo sales it would send a direct message to Dick's if their public actions had an impact to their bottom line.  In the Wayne, NJ store for example, one of the managers said that firearms/ammo sales dropped off dramatically when corporate made the announcements regarding semi-auto sales (even though Dick's stores didn't carry them).  I heard that they don't even sell guns and/or ammo there anymore. Again, you're free to spend your money any way you see fit, but directly supporting a retailer that is directly advocating against your rights (and an activity that they're luring you in for) doesn't make sense to a lot of people. Would be like going to Staples to buy copy paper to publish a newsletter while they were actively advocating against free speech for small newsletter publishers.
    • and that is exactly the point.. money that you spend will end up in the pockets of people that want to limit your rights.. and you absolutely cannot stop it.. I mean as a former NJ resident.. that was literally my life.. pay taxes to a government that not only wants to limit my rights but has the direct power to do so.. and acts on it.. but what can you do about it.. you can limit yourself and try to only purchase from non anti 2A companies.. but to what end.. your money still will go where it goes.. either directly or indirectly..
