Reloading components swap

Recommended Posts

In these strange times of shortages and extra time on our hands, I've taken stock of my inventory of reloading components.

I find that I've got an excess of some items, and am in need of some others. Some of the items can be shipped, others must be picked up in person.

My list of excess is:

CCI #34 Large Rifle Military Primers

.45ACP (large primer) spent brass (tumbled clean)

.40S&W spent brass (tumbled clean)

.357 copper jacketed soft point 158gr projectiles (Magnus #J-119)

I'm in need of:

CCI, Federal or Winchester Large Rifle Primers

PM me if you need any of the things I have excess of, or if you have what I need.

We'll try to work out an equitable exchange.

I would encourage all of you reloaders to take stock of what you have and what you need, and add your post to this thread.

Thanks,

Brian

I’ll be able to provide some of the brass in the pistol calibers @eyeinstine  perhaps .223 as well.  Just give me till later today to go through my stuff.

everyone should post up their location, I need to update mine, so perhaps we can minimize travel for everyone and optimize the meet ups.

I’m in Rumson, NJ which is near Middletown in Monmouth county.

@eyeinstine  i have some 40 brass you can have.  I’m not sure of the count but I would guess a few hundred.  The brass is once fired thru a Sig that my buddy owns.  I don’t shoot 40 so its all yours.

PM me your address.  I get it sent out this week.

I can spare 5000 nobel sport 209 primers

Also have 500 winchester aa white wads 12g — WAA12

3000 claybuster cb 2118-12 wads  these are 12s3 replacement wads

Location? think your may be too far to make a drive worth it, and primers cant ship i dont believe...

Also, i have a 500ct bag of claybusters WAA12SL replacement wads/ CB1100a12  These are the pink ones. On the bag it says optimum load is 1oz. Looking up the specs of the 500 winchester aa white wads you posted, yours and mine both say 1 to 1 1/8 load. Whats the differences between the white and pink? Can i lopad 1-1/8 oz 7.5 shot into a AA hull with these pink WAA12SL style wads?

How many 12g primers you need?

i have none; just trying to get my first relaoding setup going. I have a couple cases of factory loaded shells on hand, so no rush for me to find them. Hell, we cant even go shoot to burn through the 500 or so rounds i have on hand. Just trying to get a hobby started..  With that said, im sure your too far to make selling some primers worth while.. I believe cant ship without hazmat...

I’m in middlesex borough — zip is 08846

not worth the drive for 1000 primers — might be worth the drive for 5000 and the wads

I have those pink, claybuster wads too — laying them side by side next to the winchester wads the pink claybusters definately have a shorter shot cup — less shot in the claybuster

PM me an email address and I will send a picture or 3 —

found a local guy selling 25# bags of Lawrence brand magnum shot in 7.5,8, and 9. For a newbie reloader, making up non=competitive skeet shells, would a bag of 7.5's and a bag of 8's be a wise buy??   30$ a bag..

also grabbing 800 small pistol primers, a sealed 1# blue dot and a sealed 1# 2400 powders. 20$,15$,15$ respectively...

he has a sealed 12# keg of  700-X for 180$.. not a bad deal, but im about broke from being out of work.. not to mention 12# would last a me wayyyy longer than really necessary!

Is it a 12# keg or an 8# and 4# keg as a package deal?  I never heard of a 12# keg.  In any case, that's $15/Lb, which is a great price right now.  It would be worth digging the loose change from the couch.

$30/bag for shot is also a good price

Definitely a 12 pounder..  I had to google it up myself. they used to make and sell that size.. then DOT regs changed and that size could no longer be shipped, so they stopping offering the 12# kegs...

How many bags of shot does this guy have?  My thought is make an offer to buy them all at a better price.

I also agree about the 12 pounds of 700x — find the money and buy it — you won’t find a better deal right now

I reload because I enjoy it and to save money — in order to save money I tend to buy in bulk and make deals that help a seller out— that usually means buying everything he has at a reduced price — makes it easier on the seller

at one point he says he had about 60 bags..  down to a handfull of each shot size..

Agree on the keg.. but im just starting to acquire things for reloading; havnt actually even started reloading yet.. Just seems overkill to jump on such a large quanity of supplies.. Hell, ive own guns my whole adult life, yet i wouldnt say im much of a shooter YET.. My intent is to make it a much more frequent hobby, but not there yet..

If it wasnt for the financial hit and hardship from the current state of affairs, i probably would have tried to setup a price point with the seller just to buy out all his remaining stock.. Just cant swing that right now and a self employeed one man show who is forced out of work right now...

You've got the beginnings of a group buy going here...if you can find enough people local to you to join you in buying the shot, and a few to share the powder, you could all take advantage of some great prices (I'm too far north to jump in here).

Sharing powder is a bit of a pain, but at $15/lb, you may find a few folks willing to meet, confirm it is a sealed jug, and divide it up.  It's harder to get interest in open powder jugs due to risk of past mixing or mislabeling.

I’ve got a few things I’d be willing to trade or sell; some are duplicates of things I already have, others are items that came in as part of lots that included things I needed.

I’ve grouped some, where I’d like to move along items as a lot.

Nontoxic shot reloader special

11 lbs #4 steel unopened bag plus an extra 3 lbs #4,  plus 7 lbs # 5 bismuth shot, plus 7 lbs BB bismuth shot,  About 8 lbs BB steel shot, and 2 lbs #5 steel shot. 2 jars shot buffer, ~100 12ga gas seals, hundreds of 12 ga felt wads and overshot wads

20 gauge reloader special  100 x primed new 3” hulls, ~85 x primed new 2 ¾ hulls, assorted once fired 2 ¾ hulls, fiber and felt wads

Tasco 30mm ring mounts for scope/dot sight

 RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure

Remington Gun Club 12 gauge hulls, once fired (by me), never touched the ground.  I’ve got a 13 gallon trash bag full

458 Winchester Magnum RCBS die set and a few dozen cases, plus a small number of bullets.

375 H&H Magnum Forester Benchrest dies.  I know, I’d not expect to see ‘.375 mag’ and ‘benchrest’ in the same product description, but it is a really impressive set of precision dies.

300 Weatherby Magnum cases, a few dozen, I think.

300 Winchester Magnum dies, Lee three die set.

30-06 dies, Lee three die set.

30-30 dies, RCBS    Sold

240 Weatherby dies (3 die set, plus a neck sizer die)

 44 Magnum/special dies, Lyman, non-carbide sizer

9 mm Luger dies, RCBS two die set, non-carbide sizer   Sold

The dies are all very lightly used (I’ve not used them at all)

American Rifleman Magazines 1977 to present!

Every Issue* for over 40 years-About 500 magazines!     Pick up some reading material to pass the time during lockdown. *I think.

I’m looking for:

Unopened Winchester Super Target powder

38 cal 148 gr wadcutters

45 cal 185 gr semiwadcutters

9 mm 147 gr jacketed  or plated bullets

44 mag brass, ideally Winchester or Starline

45 ACP brass, mixed or Federal  Large primer only

.22 LR ammo

I’m in Morris County, willing to drive  up to half an hour, maybe more if moving a lot of this.

You can always get dies, a press a scale etc.  You will likely never again have a chance at scoring 12# of a good versatile powder at this price again.
