Why dont any of the shooting ranges in NJ especially the NRA affiliated one file a lawsuit  using this as president .  A constitutional right is a constitutional right even in a pandemic.

The pastor won because Northam didn't show up. Literally nothing to do with whether it was legal or not. They essentially got out of a speeding ticket because the cop didn't appear in court. So there's no precedent set and it wouldn't make it any easier for anyone else to sue if Northam decided to press the issue.

Title of the article is pretty misleading in that it makes it seem like the DOJ agreed with the pastor when the DOJ specifically said that is not the case.

Or a SCOTUS decision because the plaintiff or his council didn’t show up?

Because that happens all the time. /sarcasm

The DOJ worded their decision extremely precisely so as to set no ruling on whether it was Constitutional or not.

You mean like U.S. v. Miller (1939), a decision that was flat-out WRONG and should be revisited (when we have a 6-3 or 7-2 pro-2A majority on the court)

I take it that the "win" is the department of justice siding with the individual against the commonwealth of Virginia since the article appears to report that there is no ruling yet in this lawsuit.

Yes, that's my interpretation as well. They acknowledge that Northam's team hasn't presented yet, but they are clearly concerned that Virginia engaged in overreach here, by establishing one set of standards for this church, and a looser set of standards for other entities. This is in line with what Barr was promising - that his department would scrutinize any abuse of Constitutional rights, particularly during these COVID-19 restrictions.

Because it's illegal to close a church, because of the 1st Ammendment.   You're welcome.
