Free Virginia Concealed Carry Course.

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Front Sight has provided free course online for Virginia CC, which can be obtained by non-residents of Virginia.

It is good for 29 States and takes only an hour to complete.

I went to their trainig site in Nevada 2 times and can tell that these guys are real pros.

If the link does not work send me the PM with your email and I forward it to you.

Cheers.

Does this mean after taking this course, I can carry in the other 29 states with a NJ FID?

No, you can then get a non-resident VA CHP through the mail.  After getting the VA permit you can carry in those 29 sates.

VA is a "Shall Issue state".

You basically have to travel south/west past PA and MD to get to a state where it's accepted (or VT, NH, ME), and a few will only accept the resident permit (SC, FL, MI, WI, CO).

A hunter safety course will also qualify for an Arizona amd Virginia permit.  I do not recall if the same can be done for Florida(I think so).  Only one initial set of fingerprints is needed for an Arizona permit, whereas Virginia requires a new set with every  renewal.

This is not true. The OP was correct that 29 states honor the VA non-resident permit and 35 states honor the resident permit. The link you posted shows this. I am not sure about the fingerprint requirement for non-residents but as a resident I was not required to provide fingerprints.

I misread your post to state that only 5 states accepted the non-resident permit.  My bad, you clearly stated 5 states only accept the resident permit.  I should have read more closely.

I just increased the font size so that I can actually see all of the letters in a post.

No permits needed in VT, NH, and ME all are constitutional carry states. However one needs a permit to carry in certain parkes in Maine such as Arcadia
