Glock 43x

Recommended Posts

Curious does anyone here have or shot the 43x. I have the 43 which fits neatly in my front pocket of cargo shorts. Is the 43x that much bigger that it doesn't offer that much more concealabilty than to defeat the whole reason of a  very concealable handgun.  Is the extra 4 rounds worth it?

Shot the G43x at SHOT Show.  The length of the grip makes it very comfortable.  Very quick shooter as it's a short slide - cycles quickly.  Between the 43X and the 48, I preferred the 48 though, but that's just me.  I've got a G48 waiting on permits...

As you have a g43, get the Sig P365 instead. It’s 10+1, even though it’s shorter there is more length in the grip over the 43.    Where I get 2 fingers on the 43, I get 2.75 fingers with the stock flat 10 round mag, which is easily controllable. For the length of the 43x, I have factory 15+1 with the Sig at the same length.

Yes thats what i was trying to figure out. The 43 is small enough to make a difference to justify not carrying the 19 but if the 43 x vs the 19 is close than Id rather keep the 43 instead of getting the new x version. Would be nice to hold for myself, but seems that most ffls are out of anything glock.  Hope I made sense.

I have all the pistols mentioned here are a couple without mags inserted to eliminate the variables i could take other specific photos Upon request....... a few personal opinions

the 365 is same grip length but undercut so allows more purchase, “feels” softer shooting to me and points & shoots fast and ridiculously accurate hitting 6” plates At 25 yards almost effortlessly 10 round mag good for jersey..... better option than the 43

43X longer grip than 365 still 10 end mag so why bother if pocket carry is your goal.....However if you plan on use out of nj...there are 15 round flush fit mags which now puts you at Glock 19 class only thinner, lighter (feeling) “slicker” Iwb..add in +5 extensions on the 2 reload mags iwb...you have the same load out as a Glock 19 with oem +1 plates and the reloads are 17 mag length.the 43x & 48 are the same frame with 48 being approximately  19 length of slide/barrel.......the 43X/48 grip width (front to back) is wider than the 365 and feels more like a bigger pistol and not like s&w bodyguard

my humble opinion...if you want the best most shootable pocket pistol and be in current kingdom of nj compliance than 365 is the clear winner....if you are a “Glock guy” and want the ability to have options, are ok with moving from pocket to aiwb/iwb, have larger hands than the 43X is a great choice....

43X with 15 round mag behind the 365 with 12 round mag which is essentially flush I dont have a 15 for the sig but can’t believe they are the same length as the 12 ... from memory in a store they are noticeably longer than the 12

I agree with everything @pjd832 says about this.  I stopped carrying any of my Glocks (I have a lot of them) once I got the P365.  It is my go to EDC. It is very easy to pocket carry in cargo shorts with the 10rd mag.  I carry either a 12rd or the 15rd mag as a spare.

I keep all my handguns Glock for simple muscle memory etc. I like the size of the 43 but if the 43x is really close to a midsize, 19 etc, then it doesnt offer the ease or conceal ability of the original 43. The 19 is the 3 season carry gun, the 43 is the perfect summer gun to me.  Sounds ridiculous.  splitting hairs like this maybe the local ffl will get in some glocks one day and I can just hold it to compare and out this to bed already. you guys have  been a huge help thanks again.

    • In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.

Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving.   Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get.  Tax and spend is all they know.  Never cut anything.  This state sucks.
