I have two M1 Garands and an M1A Scout.  I have been thinking about sending one of my Garands to Schuff's Parkerizing to have a .308 barrel installed. I was thinking about having it turned into a Mini-G by him but now that I have the Scout I think I will just have the 308 barrel installed.

I still have about 4500rds of HXP 30-06 surplus that I bought years ago when the CMP had it real cheap. I haven't shot my Garands in about 8 years.

I have been buying So African battle packs, Still pretty reasonable. Since CMP is out of ammo. Prices have been going up.

I recently bought a case of brass cased 7.62x51 from Defender Ammunition for .52/rd.  Since then I can't find any good deals on bulk brass 7.62x51.

Found a few Battle packs on Gunboards and some on CMP. Look at old posts, sometimes not sold. .52 per is about right.Gotta hunt for it. M14 forum too.

Thanks, I will keep my eyes out for it. I still have some SA and German battle packs from when they were cheap.  The problem is that with availability so low I find myself holding on to my ammo and not shooting it. I have only been shooting 45ACP, 9mm, 38/357 and 44 mag because I reload these calibers very frequently and have a lot of components.  I do not really load 308 or any rifle for bulk, just precision.
