Sharing Facebook Profiles ?

Recommended Posts

Just a thought..  Birds of a feather flock together...  And most of the active members here feel like 'friends', even if theres never been a face to face meeting...

Maybe share a link to your facebook profile and accept a friend request from a NJGF friend(s) you have made.. Can always decline the friend requests if/when appropriate..

I'll go first:

No... let's leave the thread up. If someone wants to share their Facebook link with you, they can either do so on this thread or send it to you via Private Msg (PM).

FYI, just a note... NJGF also has its own Facebook page that you might want to join. I'm not a Facebooker myself and find most social media to be a bit tedious. That said, NJGF had a few unscheduled outages in recent memory, and even just in those circumstances, it was useful. FYI, some of the 2A orgs - CNJFO, and I think NJ2AS also - have Facebook pages, too. ANJRPC prob has one, too. So, if you are a Facebooker, you might want to investigate and join those, too... you will find plenty of like-minded people. :good:

It's a great idea in principle, but many of us would have severe repercussions if our political views were widely known. It's a disgusting, crying shame that in a country like America you need to self-censor, but the enemy is vindictive, malignant, and out to personally hurt people whenever possible.

I have a FB page. Rarely if ever do I put anything personnel on it other then a comment to a friends post. Mostly joined it to access other FB pages I wanted to explore. Anything I put on it is either funny or political. The only friend request I except is from friends I know. I have NO time for anyone who doesn't like my political  posts or sense of humor. And just like here, I don't use my given name. (that I hate). A friend of mine almost lost his job because someone hacked his account and started placing racist stuff on it. So be forewarned. What I don't understand about FB is people that need to put their entire life happenings on it. That I don't need either and will unlike if they find it necessary to tell the world where they are or what their doing every moment of the day.

I dunno @Mrs. Peel, doesnt appear a single positive response from this 'vision' i had!

You are correct about all the 2A orgs and the constant facebook postings and updates.. Our own @Smokin .50 shares many great write-ups and op-ed's of his own, great pieces from Theresa Inacker, and many others.  I have my news feed taylored to my liking; full of conservative and pro 2A news..  It is a great way to stay current and up to date on those matters..  Its one of the fastest ways to hear of news and updates. Many of the gun stores and ranges update their FB page instantly, where the webpage may take days or weeks to show updates. I know with the reopening of particular ranges, most got the reopening dates, times, and guidemlines up on their social media pages long before their web pages got update.. All these thoughts and other were my thoughts for this starting this post..

But i get it, its definitely not for everyone.. Ive had my finger on the delete account button a time or too; but then i stick around for the fight.. The anti's and leftist own the news media, and they virtually own the social media platforms.. And unfortunetly they are winning by a long shot in those arenas. It WILL have an effect come Novembers election...

Some of us have an anti-Facebook bias - myself included. That said, I'm not convinced it's the right choice either, for the reasons you mention. Keep doin' what you're doin'. It's important that Facebook doesn't become an ideological echo chamber. :good:

I felt the same exact way for a long time.. But recently ive decided to make a stand; not hide or cower..  I have leftist friends and family.. And i jump right in almost daily; calling out their bullshiit, posting links to factual data, and sometimes, just for fun, throw a little bait out there for them. Many times im out numbered 10 to 1..    We need to fight back on ALL fronts.. I believe we are already in a civil war; others say we are heading there..  This wont be a civil war where everyone fires bullets across a field at one another. Its a civil war between right and left, good and bad, lawful and lawlessness; its currently being fought NOW on a different kind of battlefield...

I don't like the growing practice of potential employers snooping around social media to try to find dirt on you.  for that reason alone, I would never put anything on my page.  Then there is the idea of helping out the freak Zuckerboy.

It did come in handy some years ago when all of the regulars on another forum abandoned that forum after one of the mods decided he owned the place (self-appointed absolute ruler).  We had a place to gather temporarily until a new forum was established, thanks to one member who had the resources to host it free of charge.  So my page is still out there but devoid of anything at all.

I agree, and I pretty much do the same, but I'm not going to put anything in writing. I'd be unemployed inside a couple of months.

@eyeinstine Keep the faith Ron!  Your idea is a solid one, and many of my Facebook friends are here on this forum, just not active every day.  Personally I get both sides of this equation.  On one side there's folks that hate FB for all the reasons listed.  On the other side, there's guys like me, that have written SEVEN stories for CONUS consumption since you originally posted this thread.  SEVEN, with most going unread by folks here because they don't "creep" on our NEWS web page DAILY.  The one that author & soon-to-be CNJFO Life Member John Petrolino updates when he's not aboard ship as a Merchant Marine:  https://www.cnjfo.com/News

Often there's a 2-3 DAY lag between breaking news and forum posts, although of late, guys like YOU Ron have been trying to make those here that don't do Facebook aware of current events while they're still current.  Doing THAT relieves me of the necessity of doing so, thereby allowing me the necessary time for story development, interviews and reporting the likes of which is simply astonishing.

Examples:

Red Flag interview of the first NJ family ever Red Flagged.  Lacey Twp. HS & Board of Ed suspending students for shooting on their own time off school, the great "bullet belt" fiasco (a second Lacey case!) involving Neal DeBenedetto of Lacey Twp. (he got 40 day out-of-school suspension for having his mom buy him a fashion accessory).  A Marine that got blown up in the Sand Box 14 years ago by an IED & had the Waldwick cops come to clear his house after the Mrs. called the cops & swore-out a TRO.  Cops found 2 standard-capacity mags in his footlocker along with his Marine sword.  Mags still had sand dust in them.  He asked for advice on Facebook, and we came to the rescue with cutting-edge breaking news articles (one of which the Judge in the case had IN HIS HAND as he threw the mags out of a hearing where the DA was looking to make an ARREST in Family Court) and a recommendation to hire Nappen.

Yep, Facebook sucks!  It sucks SO bad some here should consider altering their names & making profiles just to like CNJFO...

https://www.facebook.com/cnjfo

Orrrrrrr, they should at least creep our website to see what they're MISSING by only being here...

Facebook is a communications tool in my toolbox.  I've written stories viewed by the First Family.  One story got 2.3 MILLION people reached worldwide.  It's a necessary evil that my demographic uses, therefore I have to be there.  I will of course answer any page (tag) here, as this windbag pontification suggests.

Yours for a REAL 2A in Jersey before I croak,

Rosey

WHY THE GOOD GUYS NEED CCW GUNS IN JERSEY!
BRANDISHED AT IN A WALLY WORLD PARKING LOT!
by Black Wire Media Mon. July 27, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

Don't look now Loretta (NJ Senator Weinberg), THE WILD WEST is already here thanks to politicians of your ilk! In a scene right out of the movies, a Wally World parking spot became worth going to JAIL over! Seems not even a trip to Walmart is safe anymore for John Q. Citizen in south Jersey's Washington Township, a normally bucolic Philly suburb. At least not with these two miscreants on the loose. The pair decided it was a great idea to brandish their illegally-gotten GAT (hand gun) as the argument over who's spot it was escalated. Such a thing doesn't happen in Free America, where everyday citizens (including pizza delivery drivers) HAVE carry permits and so can SHOOT YOU!

See an armed society is a POLITE society in Free America where perps KNOW folks CARRY. But since New Jersey's political elites have armed escorts, they don't care about us serfs. We're merely "collateral damage" statistics in the unwinnable war on street crime (the War ON GUNZ!), where only the thugs have guns and the citizenry is at their mercy.

Where the Perps go through a revolving door Court system (we can't bring ourselves to call it "Justice") and have Rap Sheets as long as your arm. Where the actual Gun CRIMES "go away" in a broken system yearning for thugs to plead-away indictable firearms offenses in lieu of quick convictions! Where the citizens are told only the cops should have guns, and John/Jane Q. Public can't be trusted with sidearms. Where the Police have "no duty to protect" any individual (don't look at us, the Courts ruled on this YEARS ago!).

People sometimes ask us why we fight so hard for New Jersey's legal gun owners to be able to carry. Maybe our answer should be because we merely want to shop at Wally World without being threatened by the trash?

Yup, i get it and agree for certain individuals..

My boss is an ahole; did i mention im self employeed?? :icon_lol:  :p      I keep my FB page clean.. Nothing vulgar, overly offensive, racist, or threathening.  Viewing my FB, it is obvoius that im a conservative republican, very pro 2A, and an honest family man; and im proud of it..  Im also heavily involved in my community so my posts definitly get scrutinized more than most. But again, im proud of who i am and the principles i stand on...  But i can definitly see the concern someone may have about snooping bosses or potential employeers.. But then again, all the whacko leftist, anti-capitalism, antifa loving posts i see on a daily basis dont seem to be concerned or lose their jobs over it..

I feel im a decent writer, but obviosuly your a great writer Rosie.. Your post carried the entire message i struggled to convey..  Reading the daily CNJFO articles and postings, along with all the others from other outlets, is what gave me the idea to reach out to other like minded people here.. Guess im a bit surprised at how negatively FB and other online media is viewed by the masses here. But i get it; its more about personality traits. I believe that conservatives and 2A types tend to be more reclusive, reserved, and 'quiet'. Just wanting to be left alone and out of the limelight. I used to be much more like that... With the state of affairs going on now around us; i feel we need to start stepping up and fighting back.. The day will come where you wont be able to lay low and avoid the decaying society around you..

I haven't done Facebook since 'planking' was a thing.  Just don't see the point of posting everything about my life.  It could only hurt me in the future.  However, if I owned a business I'd probably use all social media for business purposes.

And while I never really liked Zuckerberg, I have been impressed with his recent stand for free speech, that had earned him nothing but scorn and hate from the Left.  Hope he had the will to keep it up!

I have a FB profile under a pseudonym.  I rarely post.  I use an "aftermarket" (not developed by FB) app to interact with FB on my phone to avoid their tracking.

I mainly use FB to buy and sell crap on their marketplace - it's surpassed craigslist for number of eyeballs.

Eyeinstine, I'll PM you my profile page.
