not that we ever stood a chance but now taxpayer's are really screwed.   taxes up property values down

And that's why this happened:

....."The Republican tax plan’s limiting of the federal deduction for state and local taxes, plus the high cost of living in the state, led to thousands of millionaires leaving the area in 2018, according to a research firm’s new report.

The report by the firm Wealth-X showed that more than 5,700 residents with liquid assets worth $1 million to $30 million left the New York-New Jersey population center last year, The Record reports.

Wondering.... has Murphy been known to grovel and crawl on his knees? Where is this coming from?

.....WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democrats in Congress are now rallying behind New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who has essentially ran his state into the ground during COVID-19, saying they won’t sign on to a new stimulus package unless there’s a bailout for New Jersey.

“Democrats said, ‘Our way or the highway.’ Republicans wanted to send cash now for schools, testing, and unemployment benefits… Democrats said nobody gets a penny until Texas and Florida bailout New Jersey,” Senator Mitch McConnell said."

Isn't this nice, that the taxpayers will be the ones helping the government workers retain their jobs... isn't Socialism wonderful?

...."A generation of New Jersey taxpayers will most likely pay back tens of billions of dollars after the state Supreme Court unanimously ruled Wednesday that Gov. Phil Murphy could borrow money to plug an estimated $10 billion budget hole caused by the coronavirus.

The ruling by New Jersey's highest court has enormous implications for a state that is already one of the most indebted nationwide, and it unburdens Murphy, a Democrat, from austere measures that could have put state employees out of work and cut deeply into social service programs.

New Jersey currently has more than $200 billion in overall debt obligations — five times the amount of the state budget — and taxpayers contribute about $4 billion each year toward paying that off, according to the Treasury Department. Borrowing another $9.9 billion, as Murphy is now allowed to do, will add that annual cost to taxpayers for decades.

What the hell, a few billion here, a few billion there, and before long, you're talking some real money!

I hope they downgrade us

I hope taxes go through the roof

I hope the home values plummet as people decide not to live here

I hope the residents get what they deserve

my exit plan is working, you need one

Hope the reps hold strong and let NJ die

I'm sure Murphy will find some way to blame Trump for this:

NJ close to dead last for economic competitiveness

The economic outlook is worse for New Jersey than nearly every other state in the country, according to an annual economic competitiveness index released by a conservative think tank.

In the 13th edition of "Rich States, Poor States" released Wednesday by the American Legislative Exchange Council, New Jersey ranks 48th among the states based on 15 factors considered by the organization to be "important state policy variables."

Specifically, New Jersey ranks in the bottom five for its top income and corporate tax rates, along with personal income tax progressivity and the property tax burden. Although the state in 2018 eliminated its estate tax, the report still gave New Jersey the worst possible mark in that category because it still levies an inheritance tax.

Starting with Trump's limitation on SaLT deduction.  Makes me laugh when he calls out the deductibility limits placed on local taxes when the only reason that is an issue is because those local taxes are so obscenely high in the first place.

It's funny how the Blue states had the biggest complaint about that Tax Bill and the SALT deduction, but those same Blue state governors forgot to look in the mirror, at the REAL reason why residents couldn't take that deduction... the HIGH taxes that were in place YEARS before the tax bill was passed.

Yeah, they blame 45 and don't even think of questioning why the local taxes are so high in the first place.

Then they'll move to a free state, because taxes etc, and vote for the same policies that cause the high taxes in the states they fled.  Like what has happened in Virginia.

Happening in NC and all the free states. Yank will talk about how terrible it was up there and why he moved and then in the same breath tell me "how we did it up there."

Seeing a lot more NJ dirty politics in NC that weren't as prevalent even 5 years ago too.

We should turn I-195 from the Delaware to the Atlantic into our own Apian Way (ca 71 B.C.) and populate it with (just about) every still-living Governor and Legislator here in the PRNJ so future politicians can see what will happen to them  if they continue the crushing debt burden on our children and grandchildren. Crucifixion may be too merciful for most of them.

If you are thinking of leaving I’d skip some of the traditional destination like:  FL, NC, TX, CO, ID and to an extent AZ (second most popular spot for those fleeing CA last year).  These states are at a tipping point, and beyond in some cases.  FL, NC full of NE libs and FL has a large influx of dem voting Puerto Rican’s post Maria.   NC is also a popular destination and with the research triangle in RD and banking in CLT it will continue to get bluer.  As CA burns, and I don’t mean literally, and considers a 10 year exit tax they are fleeing to TX, ID, CO (which they already kind of ruined) and now AZ and NV.  Austin is the progressive capitol of the south.  Amazon is expanding there, SpaceX is there and Tesla may move capacity there too.  That equals more Californians.   Virginia is already gone with a dem majority.

Tennessee is even started get some blue taint on it.

I’m not sure how long anywhere will last but some are earlier in there transformation.  Just check the migratory path of libs before deciding and go elsewhere.

So I'm like 4-5 years out, your saying I'm screwed?

I saw a segment on Fox talking about the real estate situation in FL since the COVID stuff started.

Houses are selling in FL for well over asking price.  Many are selling sight unseen over the internet.

A moving company said their business usually peaks in the summer and falls off in August (getting kids in school in September?).  Now they're booked through November.  90% of the moves are from NY, NJ, and CT.

I think it will slow down when this COVID thing gets under control.

At some point, the way things are going, we’re all screwed.  I’m simply saying in this post that the popular escapes won’t be much better.  You may have to consider something that doesn’t immediately jump out like Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana.  It’s just that the “usual” places have been discovered by too many libs.

What gun owners should learn from libs is how to rally, band together, protest snd affect change.

I was speaking to the guy that built my house in FL, we shoot on his farm now and again, and he said realtors are stunned at the aggressiveness of people willing to buy and rent sight unseen.  If everyone moves out NJ, NY and CT will only have conservatives left.  Most that are fleeing due to COVID and civil unrest are those that voted for these turd Democrats.
