There is, but IF the NICS units comes back wit ha denial, they will not disclose the reason to the FFL.

The FFL only knows approved or denied.

As I said earlier, there is an appeal process in which the denied person would need to request an explanation in writing from the NICS unit.

JT, its been a while since my last purchase.

Which forms will I be required to sign when I go to pick up the firearm?

You would need to sign the bottom of page #2 on the 4473 - this is to attest that you have not changed status on any of the questions you checked off when you fist filled out & signed the 4473 (For NICs submital)

You would need to fill out, sign & date the NJ COE for a long gun / other firearm

Or you would need to fill out the NJ HG Permit if you are getting a HG.

That is all that is required.............

It's a handgun.

He called and said that I can pick it up whenever and that I just have to sign "two forms".

So I'm assuming it's page 2 of the 4473.

The "NJ HG Permit", is that the P2P that I gave him?

Can they run the NICS in the morning of the day you go to pickup the FFL item or they have to do this while you are on site?

Currently, NICs is backed up so you go fill out the 4473, and then come back when the FFL calls you...............

A little off topic...looking at a rifle at a ffl south jersey.  I am in north jersey.  Can I fill the 4473 and send it electronically, so I don’t have to drive to south jersey multiple times?

No. The form must be filled out at the dealer's licensed premises.

So what happened to deerpark? What was the end of the story?

BTW, I went to my FFL today to start NICS and was told that it takes about a week to get through. Really??? The things got that crazy or it was a little lie?

I filled out NICS today also, joked with the guy about my 5 day waiting period, he said 2-3 days. So no definitely not a week.

Am I reading this correctly that people are waiting days for a NICS check? That is criminal. Mine took 5 minutes yesterday and the same two weeks before. What is the hell could take so long?  Is the NJSP using teletype or telegraph? Maybe carrier pigeon? That is ridiculous.

I suspected he was a bit behind with the paperwork, so this is why. Hmmm... :mda:

NICS site says they're working on Saturday as of 8am today, so that's 2 days. As long as he actually submitted it while you were there you should get it back by Thursday/Friday latest.
