silverado427 10,682 Posted September 25, 2020 Here's some 100 yd commands. The initial command was down then I walked to the other end of the field and signaled the following. I had her come forward about 15' and return to with the down command. Then I signaled her to come ( advance ) about half the distance to me and then signaled her to the down position, And at that point I signaled her to bark .Then I signaled the come (Advance to me ) . The second video clip is a ( get some ) hand signal. This video is taken on a old i phone 5 . IMG_2707.MOV IMG_2708.MOV

How long have you been working with her on that? What actual hand signals are you using that she can see from that distance? Also, are you training for some type of competition, or just to expand her abilities? 6 hours ago, silverado427 said: The second video clip is a get some hand signal. silverado427 10,682 Posted September 25, 2020 5 1/2 years of off leash training. Basic hand signals To advance forward I raise my hand straight up with a little wave. To go to the down position I slice my hand from my chest to my knee . To bark I raise my hand about face high and open and close my hand like a dogs jaws. The best part of the training is when we're done and we have this ritual I ask her if she's ready and i get a one bark response I extend my arm out at my side my dog gently grabs my hand in her mouth and we run around the inside of the ball field . Its like she's walking me. Very rewarding .

Sniper 6,372 Posted September 30, 2020 Wait, where's the cookie at the end there?? That's hard work, you know! What's the hand signal to get her to strike at the jugular? Do you actually run or walk her on the prong, or is it for other use?

If I don't know who we'll run into, I'll run the prong. He can pass by 5 people with no issue, and then on the 6th one, sense something, and go into defensive mode, so he needs some "reminder" to stand down. It's nice to know the Level One training is working.
rifleman 90 Posted April 21, 2021 Prong collar is amazing. My Pit never ever needed a correction. She would sure come running when I shook it like a set of sleigh bells. She loved her prong collar, many happy times wandering around the neighborhood.
