CMJeepster 2,766 Posted October 22, 2020 I donated outgrown bikes in the past few months to the local Boys & Girls Cub. The make repairs / tune-up and sell them of give them to those in need.
10X 3,278 Posted October 22, 2020 I donate a lot through Goodwill stores. They mostly don't take children's toys (concern about lead in the Chinese imports), but I doubt that stops them from accepting bikes. For larger stuff, Vietnam Veterans and the Lupus Foundation do pick-ups.
JC_68Westy 1,024 Posted October 22, 2020 When I lived in NJ I just used to put anything I didn't want at the end of the driveway. Nothing ever lasted more than a few hours. 1

Try your local church, they have needy families they help especially this time of year

Who says that the person/group you give it to doesn't just scrap it or resell what you give them?

Fred2 367 Posted October 22, 2020 Used bikes have about 0 value. I fixed up an old 10 speed i got for free, (put in a tire tube) and lost money on the deal when it sold on ebay.
DirtyDigz 1,793 Posted October 22, 2020 Put them up for free on Facebook marketplace. Will probably be gone same day. Used bikes were a hot item this summer. I don't know if bikes are getting restocked, but COVID put a run on bikes and most box stores (walmart etc.) were sold out this summer and used bikes were selling for money. https://www.newjerseynewsnetwork.com/story/42226668/bicycle-sales-soar-amid-pandemic
