The slide lock spring is either broken, missing or mislocated.

Did you detail strip it lately?

Ive actually never detail stripped but it looks like the spring is broken after googling pics of it. Is this an easy fix?

It should be pretty straight forward. I haven't taken a PPQ apart, but most guns come apart easily with a few punches and sometimes a screwdriver.

You should be able to find a YouTube video of the disassembly and reassembly procedure.

Based off that pic thats what you're thinking too right?

My next gun is a glock 36. No more walthers for me.

Now time to find a walther spring!

You can send Walther CS an email. I had contacted them when my PPQ trigger return spring failed and they sent me a replacement with a spare (occurred at 12k rounds for those curious).

Taking the PPQ apart is no more difficult than a Glock or any other striker fired gun. You should be able to do it with help from YouTube and a few punches as Stu already said.

The PPQ is a bit of a pain to disassemble the first time since you need a decent amount of force to punch out the slide lock as the left side press fit into the right.  After that, it's easier to do on subsequent strips.

I haven't had this particular problem with the spring but have heard of it before.  The PPQ has it's quirks but is still decent shooter.  Ultimately, I still prefer my VP9, CZ, and Glocks.
