Where to shoot a shotgun?

Hello all, 

I just purchase a new shotgun but have yet to shoot it.  Where can I go, within reasonable distance of Monmouth County to shoot without having to join a range?  

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! You should keep an eye out for @Krdshrk. He likes to post open invites to shotgun shoots at WMAs. A few of us like to get together once a week or so.

Take the hunter education course and get a hunting license, which will allow you to use any of the state WMAs. A cheap thrower and license will be cheaper than almost any range membership near you. License will also allow you to bring friends to WMAs, which is good cause then you have someone to load/throw birds for you.

said above, there are usually monthly-ish forum shotgun shoots in Clinton where you can get instruction and help hitting clays, and try a bunch of guns, plus meet some of the members of the forum, who are honestly some of the nicest and friendliest people you will meet.

Yep!  We just had a shoot at Clinton WMA yesterday.
