  1. So I applied for a Pistol permit and my local PD is asking me to complete this:

    https://www.njportal.com/njsp/criminalrecords/

It costs $20 bucks, usually permits were $2. Is this something new? I have almost 30 handguns and never had to do this. Can anyone shed some light on if its something I really have to do? Here are the instructions they gave me:

ON LINE FORM 212A, a highlighted block located on the lower left side of the page.

    - In the ORI number box put

    - Follow the prompts for demographic and payment information.

    - Upon completion of the form you will receive an email Confirmation & Receipt that will include a confirmation number.

    - At this time the request will be forwarded to the Police Department’s work queue for approval and submission to the NJ State Police for processing.

    - If more detailed information is needed click on the Help Tab, located on the top right side of the page.

  2. Nice firing one of these is on my bucket as I will probably not have the money for one

Let me know if you ever want to shoot it. If you pay for the ammo, im happy to let you shoot it when I am at Cherry Ridge.

    Where you gonna shoot it?

Cherry Ridge Range, I am a member there.

    OH MAN thats nice!

    Thanks!

Nice.. Now another $3,000 for a quality piece of glass up top.. :)

Yup, probably going with the Leupold with the BORS system.

    WOW... O_O

How heavy is that one? About 20 lbs. as is?

Its about 30 lbs with no ammo.

That's B-E-A-utiful!!!! Always wanted to play around with one of those. Lol.

Thanks, see offer above, if you ever are at cherry ridge when I have it there, you are more than welcome to shoot it.

You gonna use it for home defense?

    C

HAHA no way. I think my house would fall down from the shock wave.

You on reddit?? Someone from nj posted on there the other day about buying one. Can't imagine 2 NJ guys buying one the same day..

    Yup, thats me :)

It came with a female model as well? Thats awesome.

haha, I had the female model before I got this gun.

Generally it weighs about 29 lbs. I believe that is the 29", not the 20".

The newer model, M107All is supposed to be about 5 lbs lighter and has a different muzzlebreak to accept a suppressor, but is a bit more expensoive then it's predecessor.

Yeah I have an M107 on order in 416. Lets see how much that weighs when it gets here.

  3. That looks gorgeous!

    Thanks!!

My understanding of NJ tells me that there's no such thing as grandfather clauses. What do you plan to do with it should the legislation pass?

The way the current bill is written is that I can pay a $50 registration fee once the bill passes. If they dont allow it, I will ship it to a residence in FL or TX, but I would like to keep it with me in my NJ residence.

  4. Here is a picture album.

So far so awesome. Once I got the gun together, i couldnt believe how easy the thing was to work with. The build quality is far superior to most rifles I own. I though it was going to take the incredible hulk to work with the springs and putting the two halfs together, but def not! You just have to be careful with the recoil spring when you are removing the holding pin.

I cant wait to get this to the range in the next couple of weeks.

The last picture is of my gf (shes 5'4") next to the gun. Its so dam large!

  5. Hey guys, I am looking for both match and just go bang stuff. Just ordered some PMC Bronze stuff from sgammo. Thanks for the link!

I also have the reloading dies, but ive never loaded a caliber so large. Anything different or just like loading all other calibers?

  6. As you can tell from the posts in this thread, and similar ones on this site.. everyone is frustrated.  Those that can, have been attending rally's and the legislative events to speak out against the bills.  The frustration comes from the fact that the legislature is not listening and plowing ahead.  When that happens, the only^h^h^hfirst recourse is to try to vote those people out..

Yeah I know, like I said above, its sad that the only recourse we have is voting. Its just not fair...

  7. I think, "we, the people", get to vote on this in November.

I never really got this logic. Its a very brainwashed mentality. Oh great you get to vote in november, your vote, which "might" elect someone who still will stick up and try and please the stupid masses in this country. Even then if they decide to try and change some of the laws, it has to go through a voting process in which the senates and councils might not be controlled by people who agree. Voting, even though I do it, doesnt hold as much weight as you think it does.

  8. I assume all .50 cal firearms will be grandfathered?

I sure hope so. Also what is the date to be grandfathered? I bought the gun well before the ban and have an invoice but just submitted the NICS check sunday.

It would take effect as soon as it is signed by the Governor..  Many bills have a 'start date' written into them such as "30 days after signed into law".. etc.

Obviously a significant portion of the population of NJ is threatened by .50 cal firearms on a daily basis.  The bill must take effect immediately "To save just one life.. Won't someone think of the children!"

This is so stupid. Why doesnt any even fight back against this? How are they allowed to make laws like this. I cant tell you how frustrating this is. Lets ban all 18 wheelers and dump trucks to make sure people dont get killed in car accidents anymore.

Is the SAF or NRA doing anything about this?
