  1. They finally charged my cc woohoo. Now I have a piece of paper to go with my expired pass so my butt is covered.

Edit: now they charged me twice. Awesome now I need to try and get them to sort it out. I don't like to complain but it just seems they really need an overhaul in either the staff or system of administration. Oh well patience is a virtue.

Edit: they rectified the problem will mail check. And new badges should go out in the next couple weeks.

  2. Well I stopped by RTSP yesterday with 3 other buddies, one being a somerset country swat officer. This was out first time there and overall we had an enjoyable time. The wait time was minimal, considering it was 2pm- less then 10 minutes. The counter help was fantastic; sorry I forgot her name but she was the blonde-ish girl.

My only complaint was the price of ammo. Roughly 17 for a box of 9mm for members, but 27 for non members. Now I get the drive of supporting your member base, but that seemed out of line. Clearly if you can sell a box to a member for 17, you're not losing money, but to charge a non member 10/box more seemed unfair.

    Just my .02

Although with the shortage 17 a box is a good price I would say the 10 premium to non members is rough unless the aim is to ensure continued stocks for members. I would still say 27 is steep.

  3. What are you gonna use it for? If you want to merely extend deer season, then an inline is the way to go, but remember that if you use sabots you have to scrub that plastic out of the bore after about 4 shots. And the Encore is a great gun for this!

If you want to really learn muzzleloading, buy a slightly used traditional percussion sidelock like a Hawken-style rifle. For just $30.00 a year you can become a member of a club that shoots real black powder in Vernon, NJ, just a short drive from Randolph. We shoot paper, novelty targets, and have Woods Walks that feature gongs and other specialty targets. The REAL fun of muzzleloading.......at a fraction of the cost of using imitation powder and sabots.

What is the name of this club. And where do you meet in relation to cherry ridge?

  4. Probably not allowed so you don't shoot up the grass? I guess? I am 6"9 and got told by the RO to keep my pistol targets high as not to shoot downward at the lawn. Could be that you may be in the line of fire with the mounds near the 50 yard mark. Just a guess. You could shoot to 50 and calculate the elevation at 25 yards with a ballistics chart for your load on the web. Should be very close to the same at both distances.

I'm the beginning I was old the same thing (6'7")

I think I'll make a stake style target a la range 14 and ask the rso before I start let him know what's up etc. worst case I BH or deal with 50 yards

  6. Rtsp is further away and I just renewed at cherry ridge. The value of that range is awesome but I'd rather not pay 10-25 bucks for range time considering the rising ammo costs etc. ill see what the ridge says worst case scenario ill go to BH

  7.

The question I have is why would you want a 25 yard zero? Aren't most riles typically set up for 100 or 200 yard zero's? Last month I had to zero a 5.56 rifle at 50 yards for a practice session and used a 50 yard zero target designed for a 25 yard range to do it at RTSP. The sighting donut was just over an inch above the POI box.

It's my ar. With standard front site and mbus rear with a red dot in the middle so 100 or 200 yard Zeros aren't really applicable.

  8. I need to zero a rifle and never since being a member at cherry ridge have had to do so. The question is how do I do a 25 yd Zero up there?

Do you think it is acceptable to take a stand from pistol and set up my target at 25 yds? I don't see it as a safety issue so I don't think a rso would mind if they saw it.

    Anyone done this before?

  9. As a guy smack dab in the middle of his twenties I appreciate seeing younger staff at stores. I stopped in there today first time for me and the three guys working at the time seemed knowledgable and friendly. The guy helping me was courteous and helpful, the guy I overheard organizing a mixed group of new and returning rental shooter was super nice and patient and this other guy was dealing with people nicely too. I pay attention to everyone when im in stores (I am a compulsive people watcher). They had an awesome selection I almost couldn't tell we were in a drought when I was there. I am looking forward to going back with my p2ps or cash to deposit. only negative i got was only members can "layaway" reserve a gun which is a bummer because there were a couple that I wanted to put down for.

I say give another clerk a shot because with a store that has a stock like that its worth a second shot.

    My two cents.

  10. Oooh big woop BB gun has been reduced in punishment are you kidding me that's what your wasting time on. Why is that a crime at all a frakking BB gun. You don't even need to get a Nics check for a BB gun it's not a gun.

When it boils down its the legislate for the sake of legislating mentality and overbearing nonsense that makes my blood boil.

  11. Yea definitely stay away from the flood zones in wayne if that's where you were looking. Because commute wise if she's by the mall on 46 shooting down 23 a little bit beats an hour fifteen look further away possibly even kinnelon decent schools decent population 15 mins from the mall area and 20 mins from cherry ridge :)
