I looked thru the transport threads best I could. Did not find any reference to motorcycles or how to transport firearms with one.

Guns and motorcycles, kinda like ice cream and root beer. They just seem to go together. I am working on purchasing my first firearm. It will be a handgun. I also LOVE motorcycles. But, I don't like stockers. I tend to like the kind of bike that is loud, obnoxious, and just barely legal. Rigid chopper type stuff. If I want to ride to the range, is it permissible to have my firearm in a locked lock box, unloaded magazines and ammo seperate from the gun, in a backpack? No stops for anything other than fuel would be my thinking as at that point it could be considered a concealed carry situation I'm sure. Any thoughts? Advice? I know it's my right to own and transport a firearm, and I have the privilege of riding a motorcycle legally here as well, but can I combine the two without un-due risk to my personal liberty?

Hello.

 

New guy signing in from Bergen County. I'm looking to purchase my first firearm and am shocked, apalled, and dismayed by the overbearing laws that this state has regarding such a purchase and the subsequent use and transport of firearm. But, I'm going forward anyway.

 

Hope to learn more on here and to up my knowledge base and have some fun along the way.
