  1. Haha... Naples

Maybe we could link up information and hit the stores up and relay back and forth. I'll be stating in Cape Coral or fort Myers depending on who I stay with. My girlfriend family is in Naples.

No kidding, LOL. Then you know the area, we will be in Estero (no one ever knows where that is). I plan on going shooting while Im out there as both my parents have CCW's and they want to go when I'm there also. My pops just picked up a new S&W 9mm i want to try out.

  2. I'll be in SW Florida for the last two weeks in April also. Luckily if the stores are dry my grandfather had a huge stash, and my girlfriends family also have an insane amount of supplies stockpiled. Last I talked to them it was something along the line of 275,000 rounds of .223 between 3 of them. I guess when you've been reloading for the last 10 yrs and only shooting half of what you reload.... It adds up.

I need to move closer to them.... Haha

Im coming with you. lol Where in Florida? Im flying into Orlando, staying at the Gaylord for a few days then off to Naples for the rest of the time.

  3. Hey!

Not sure if this is in the correct "sub forum" so apologies if it isn't.

I will be traveling down to NC this week and want to bring the rifle (maybe a hand gun as well). I will be driving and have read up on the laws through the various states I will cross through. Pretty much its all the same, keep guns locked in trunk, with ammo in the front (I have a lock box) so I will put it in there.

I will be in Wake Forest (between Durham and Raleigh) and am looking for a rifle/handgun range that we can shoot at while there. Anyone familiar with any good spots in that area?

    Thank you for the help!

    Vito.

  4. For what it's worth, I stopped by RTSP yeaserday and it was jam-packed. I just decided to forget the whole thing and stop back next week when everyone is back to work.

Wherever you go, consider that they might be a lot busier than usual.

You make a very solid point. I know I work retail and its been chaos for the last 2 days.

  5. Hey everyone!

Going shooting with the wife tomorrow and was wondering what range would be good to go to. I will be taking my AR (.223) and a few handguns (.38, 40, 9mm, 45, etc) so some place that will accommodate all of that. I have my own ammo already for all of them, would just need targets. I am located in essex county, but don't mind taking the drive for something good (45-60 min drive is fine). Thinking something indoor (she gets cold quickly) and not the Bullet Hole as I've been going there for over 10 years and would like to try something new and different.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

  6. Was thinking about going up there tomorrow with the wife (I've been once). They charge $25 for a Rifle port (ill be brining the AR, and a few hand guns), so is that $25 for the rifle port and can shoot handguns as well or are they going to charge $25 for the rifle and another $20 for the handguns?

Since ammo is hard to find these days (.223) I'm only going to bring a bit for the rifle so dont want to get stuck paying $45 for an hour on the port, and I have no intentions of buying it there as the last time i was there they were severely overpriced on ammo.

    Thanks.

  7. +1 for the lower at least

I bought a stag complete upper (I assembled the lower) and had them make it NJ compliant. Not only do they do it, they dont charge you extra. Spikes was quite a bit more to make it compliant.

Did the exact same thing. Got the butt stock and entire upper from Stag already NJ compliant.

  8. I'm in Parsippany and have been looking for a range that offers the same amenities and have narrowed it down to Cherry Ridge but you have to be pay to be a member to shoot. I'd definitely like to check it out and shoot there before I sign up thogh. Would anyone who is a member like to guest me in so I can try it out? I'm planning on making it out there for the next "membership Sunday" on 6/2 anyways.

For now, I'll have to stick to the Bullet Hole to shoot my rifle. Shoot me a PM if you want to get together at the BH to shoot. I'm usually there once or twice a week.

Im going on Friday for around 10am. If you around let me know and we'll meet up.

  9.

im a member at CR. for a plain static range, its absolutely fine. 50/100/200/300 yard rifle range, up to 50yd pistol, skeet range with newly added throwers available for rent, rimfire silhouette range, clubhouse with bathroom and full kitchen available for your use at any time. range closes at sundown, open every day other then major holidays and 2 work weekends a year. weekdays are very empty. nice weather weekends can get somewhat filled from 8-11, but anywhere after 12-1 it empties.

    check here for updates

Thanks for the info! In order to become a member you need to attend a meeting right? First or second sunday of the month?

I'm plotting on shooting in Salem county Friday is anyone is around

Where is that? Im going shooting Friday also, even if its to the bullet hole just to get some rounds out of the AR with the new grips.

  10. I'd also recommend OBRPC, a little pricey the first year but think of it as a buck a day after that. Only have 100 yard max, but OB is great if you want to shoot action sports or get into most shooting sports.

CJRPC is also one to look at but may be a little farther than you want to drive, but worth a look at also.

CJRPC is a bit out of the way.

old bridge is extremely expensive, especially if you only go a few times a year. not to mention you are, for some reason, 'required' to participate in several matches and to even watch some before you are a member. cherry ridge is much cheaper and more cost effective if youre just starting out. you come and go as you please, no requirements. join CR first, you wont be sorry.

I've been shooting for years, just hand guns though, this is my first rifle and shooting inside gets old very quick especially with Bullet Holes 23 yrd range. I want to have more option, longer ranges, etc. I guess joining CR is going to be the best corse of action for me, since its the closest for the most part, but also the least expensive.

Who's a member there? Do you like it? It it hard to get ports on weekends, nights, etc?

    Thanks.

  11. Old bridge is pricier to join than cherry ridge, but does offer an indoor range, and more "action type" shooting..so that might be a consideration

I looked the membership fees, Old Bridge is a bit more expensive. They do have the indoor range thats 24/7 which is nice, so i guess you pay for the convenience.
