  1. Hey everyone.  Since this forum is always so helpful I figured I'd ask yet another question.  As a newer gun owner and an even newer shotgun owner, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good, sturdy, pic rail vertical forend grip for my pump 12 gauge shotgun.  I got a cheap $15 one just to try it out and it was great but it broke after about 2 dozen rounds at the range.  Anything out there that won't snap off and under $100?  If not I'm happy to hear any recommendation you may have.  I appreciate all of your help!  Thank you!

As far as I know most muzzle brakes are legal in NJ. Dunno if it holds any water but if yer pinky can fit in there it’s illegal lol.
basically the hole on the front should be no larger than the bullet diameter where as flash hiders are wide open hence the pinky can fit and that’s the no go.
As always others can correct me and or chime in. If you have a particular brake then maybe mention the type. I’m sure others may already have one installed but that’s not gospel neither.

Thank you for the help.  The one I'm looking at is the Hi-Tech Custom's Howitzer 70.  I hope it works as well as they advertise

In NJ, whatever the device is marketed as, is what it is. “Pinky test” is a myth.

No muzzle device is illegal in NJ. Flash hiders are perfectly legal.

However - Depending on what you install a flash hider on, it may make a weapon an “Assault weapon” making it illegal to own in NJ. Example:

    • Flash hider on a bolt gun: legal
    • Flash hider on a mini 14 or SCR: legal
    • Flash hider on an SBF Other: legal
    • Flash hider on an AR: illegal.

A pump action shotgun is not semi-auto, so it will not fall under the provisions of NJ AWB. You can add any muzzle device you want to it.

Thank you for the help.  Do you know if it have to be welded to the gun?

  4. Hoping you guys can help.  I have a Kel Tec KS7 and I wanted to get a muzzle brake from hi-tec but, of course, I have to do some crazy research and try to find some info that will tell me if they are legal in NJ on a pump action shotgun.  Does anyone know if they are legal or not?  Thank you very much for the help!  Stay safe.

I just got an email saying that Prepper Gun Shop has them currently. Pretty sure I’ve bought from them in the past.  CDNN Sports has them as well.

Thank you!  I took a look and got one from them.  It's being shipped to my FFL and should be there by Friday.  I got it for a good price, too.  Fast shipping, great communication, if the gun arrives in good condition they will get a 5 star review for sure!

  6. I've been looking for a KSG shotgun for a while now and since the pandemic and our fearless leader have screwed up the country I've been trying to find one for a reasonable price ($800-$900). I've found a few websites that periodically have them in stock but when I try to make the purchase they won't ship to NJ.  Its so frustrating!  Does anyone either know a way around this or could you recommend a good shop/website that has a decent deal and will ship to NJ?  Thank you guys and good luck out there!

Its on the screen shot - Luciano's in Lodi.

I bought the exact same one in the fall (i think for the same price). i think the nics/transferee fee is another ~$100 (I dont recall so dont hold it against me)

Better call him because he sells all his shotguns within hours....

Awesome.  Thank you so much!! Your help is greatly appreciated!

  8. Hey everyone,  I'm a new gun owner and I love the gun community!  What I don't love is NJ and their ambiguous and backwards gun laws.  I wanted to get a pump action bullpup shotgun and was looking at the Kel Tec KS7 and KSG.  While trying to compare them with other brands I found it was almost impossible to find a list of pump action bullpup shotguns for around $1,000 or less.  Does anyone have any good recommendations besides the black aces tactical?  Thank you in advance for your time and help.  Have a great memorial day and God bless those who lost their loves making the ultimate sacrifice
